About 95% of the 1/35 military models I purchase are from Tamiya, but there are a few occasions where a certain model isn't available by Tamiya, so I have to resort to other brands. In this case, the Vulcan was a vehicle I was trained to repair the electronics when I was in the Army, so naturally I wanted to add this to my collection. I was excited to receive it, however, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment, as I quickly found out there wasn't any representation of the interior of the vehicle, just the external components. That means no engine, no interior benches nor seats...nothing. In all of the Tamiya M113 versions I put together, they all had great detail including the interior and engines, and the rear gate could be in the open or closed position, exposing the interior benches, seats, and equipment. The Tamiya versions also had a Tank Commander and a driver, and some kits had troops on the ground. The Tamiya M113's also had the hatch door on top of the PC that could be in the open or closed position.The next problem for this Italeri Vulcan is fitment issues and thin parts. I began to assemble this model, only to begin having fitment issues and poorly molded parts. Some of the parts on the sprue were attached to the parts in odd places, making it very difficult to remove w/o having clean cut parts, even after sanding the attachment points. And lastly, the sprocket parts didn't fit to each other. There is a notch in one sprocket and a little tab that fits into the notch, but the diameter of one sprocket didn't fit into the other. It was at that point where I decided I had fiddled with the parts enough and wasted enough time that I decided to return it.This will be my last experience with any Italeri models.
