This is the first tripod magnetic mount I've seen and it definitely does the job. It comes with a magnetic adhesive disc but I believe most modern phones have MagSafe now. It is adjustable, think "car phone holder" and you won't be far wrong.I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max, so quite a large phone, and on a small desktop tripod I have it was a little unsteady due to the size and weight, but that does not take away the usefulness and quality of the mount. Recommended.

I use my iPhone 15 Pro for all of my photography, so having a nice easy on/off solution for tripod/selfie sticks is very useful.This adaptor is similar to the car vent mounts but works on a tripod instead.I have used it quite a few times now and find it has decent magnetic strength, but not as strong as I would like - it is quite easy to jolt the iPhone off this MagSafe mount, such as if someone were to bump into the tripod, this mount may not hold the iPhone.With that said, it is a decent magnet and will hold the iPhone very well for most needs.It can be loosened/tightened at the rear to allow control over how tight or loose you need or want the angle adjustment to be.Regarding rotation - that doesn’t matter as the iPhone can rotate around the MagSafe connection so that is fine.There is a limit to the angles that can be achieved due to the ball joint style connector - so bear that in mind - it is not like one of those 180° adaptors that are also available.There is a self-adhesive magnetic ring supplied - I stuck it to one of my LED studio lamps and it works very well - better than the MagSafe attaching to the phone - very good indeed.For the price, it is a nice item to have available - but just be sure to realise the limitations of the angles you can achieve.

I've been looking for a simple phone mount that I can use on photo shoots. This magnetic mount from JJC fits the bill perfectly. I'm using a phone in a case with a MagSafe ring built in, so no need to apply the supplied magnetic ring to my phone or case. Most recent iPhones already have the magnetic ring anyway.The magnet is strong enough to hold the phone still, and I like the ease of positioning the phone when it's on the mount. For my needs, the standard tripod thread in the base works as I usually have a few stands or clamps with this 1/4 inch 20tpi thread on. I was also pleased to discover that it will fit and Arca Swiss tripod too. Simply put the base of the mount in to the Arca Swiss tripod head and tighten it up. This is a brilliant feature for me.

As an alternative to using the normal clamp method of holding a phone on a tripod or stick this is a good idea. It is well made and has some limited ability to change the angle in relation to the stick or tripod. My only reason for losing a point is that its one thing to use a MagSafe attachment in the safety of my home but a little worried about using the system out in the street where the phone could be knocked.I have a few cases for my iPhone 16 ProMax and I have tried this case with all of them. Some give a quite firm hold on the adapter but it is definitely quite weak on other cases and not that strong on the bare phone. This item is good but the MagSafe on my car definitely holds firmer than this one so it could be a little better.This adapter comes with a stick on metal ring to convert non MagSafe phones or cases but that is not particularly strong either. OK for use in "safe" environments such as home but would not use it in the street.
