I was concerned that the rings that hold onto the material would be cheap, or not strong enough to grab and hold the material in place, but I was happily wrong.The rings grab on TIGHT and hold everything in place very securely, and very tautly. They stretch the fabric out beautifully. As a note: you'll possibly need two people to sort of open the rings and hold everything in place as you close them. Certainly, these rings are too finicky and strong for a child to set up on their own.The patterns are delightful - just as seen online. Bright and colourful, and the threads are equally lovely.The material is very stiff. Much more so than most other cross stitching material I've seen. I was thinking that I might not even need to use the rings to keep things taut. The kids should be able to just hold the stiff material in one hand while they do the stitching. I was thinking that I could cut some of the edge material into little squares or triangles, and draw on some additional little designs with markers. The kids could practice on those ones perhaps.

This cross-stitch kit has everything needed to start, including 6 floral patterns, 2 hoops, needles, threads, and more. It comes with easy-to-follow instructions and the pre-printed designs make it simple for beginners like me. It’s a fun and calming project.

The 6 different cross stitch designs are basic so good for beginners especially as one of the younger family members wanted to learn a hobby but not my style of embroidery so this is a good option for them and ideal for their age range. I like that everything needed is provide although for me the needles are tiny and useless so i prefer to replace those. The various flowers are quite easy to begin with and the embroidery skeins provided are a good quality nd easy to work with, thread and if needs be split. At the time of ordering the cost was £12.99 which is value for money in my personal opinion.
