This product is perfect for when I feel the need to snack on something that needs to sit in my gut, without having calories. For Ketosis, and fasting, it has been perfect. It's nice to have an alternative to coffee and Jello on days when I need a calorie deficit and want something more substantial. Using it as a thickening agent, or baking with it and zero calorie sweeteners, as well as zero calorie flavoring agents like some soy sauces, and other salts is a lot of fun. The clay by its self was clean and pure. It was delivered in bone-dry chunks. All debris has been removed, as have any rocks or twigs which often are present in clay. The chunks themselves have a uniform texture, color, and taste. People who cook with clay know the importance of having a consistent clean and filtered product to work with. I'm super grateful that such a product is available. Here is one recipe I use Salted Clay Biscuits.Everything is measured to taste.Ingredients :one chunked block from Natura Uralis: White Kaolin Clay,Liquid hickory smokeMonosodium glutamate (MSG)All natural Sea Salt (I prefer the quality and variety of Japanese sea salts)Equipment:Mortar and pestle,Separate air-tight tupperware like container.wooden unfinished spoonwooden unfinished cutting board.Instructions:Hammer the clay into a fine powder, a mortar and pestle works, and put to the side.Add a small pinch of salt, and MSG, and whisk into the dry clay powder. (MSG is a Primary Reinforcer, and a biological signal for protein, so it will enhance the flavor of the clay to taste more like real food.) Take the liquid smoke, remove the cap, place your finger over the opening in the bottle, and shake the bottle, then take your finger with the residual liquid smoke, and rub it in against the bottom of a separate tupperware container apply only a small amount, a little liquid smoke goes a long way. Then add the dry materials from the mortar and pestle into the tupperware onto the residual liquid smoke. Run a sink with potable cold water on a medium flow. Very quickly pass the tupperware under the flow of water, and pull it out. (a small amount of water goes a long way.) knead the clay mixture, and taste for preference. if you have too much water in your clay mixture, and it's runny, you can put it on the unfinished dry wooden cutting board to soak up some moisture overnight. If you try boiling it, it might bubble over and make a huge mess. Put the mixture back into the tupperware, and refridgerate, (some cultures bake clay into little cookies, which is another option for desiccation.) Kneading or wedging the clay on the cutting board can assist with pulling out moisture, and unlike flour which has gluten, it won't get rubbery. If the taste is not to your liking, dispose of in a trash can. Running clay down the sink can clog pipes worse than grease, so avoid that, and rinse extensively if it happens accidentally. This is my zero calorie savory approach. Stay hydrated while eating this, and avoid eating too much as clay consumption can lead to dehydration as well as serious constipation. It's just a small snack to trick your brain into thinking you ate food, and assist with fasting. Do not go crazy and eat it all at once, you will likely end up needing laxatives and medical interventions if you eat a whole box at once, but also, this recipe sits very heavy in the stomach, so a small amount does go a long way. Let me know what you think!
