My girlfriend and I have just adopted 3 guinea pigs. We've never actually thought about cutting the nails or grooming them, until now! The package came with a case, containing a double-sided comb, a brush and some nail clippers. We've tried introducing some sort of grooming routine to the guinea pigs to modicum degrees of success. The stuff in this grooming kit works alright for us and our routine, and the guinea pigs also seem calm enough when using the tools included in the set.The price does seem quite high for what you get in this set however, I feel like you could probably find the tools included in this set for a lot cheaper somewhere else.All in all, we found the tools to be quite useful, if not overpriced for what you get.

This small animal grooming set contains a double sided comb, a loose fur remover and a claw clipper. There was also an instruction manual, apparently meant to be presented in a ‘cute’ way, as there was little substance to it. Of course, the use of the items is so obvious that a manual seems pointless to me, except perhaps in the case of the claw clipper that could do harm if not used appropriately.The three items are presented in a zipped case that is, in my opinion, completely over the top, given the poor quality of the contents (see later). It is far larger than it needs to be and has a pointless pocket internally on one side. Externally there is a little patch sewn on with the company name embroidered onto it.From the image below you will be able to see that the double sided comb has bent prongs and the brush bristles are also misplaced at one side. This is not to say that they were not usable - they were - but at the current price of £28.75 I really don’t think that this sort of quality is acceptable. I cannot comment on the usability of the nail clippers as I have not tried them. I had a quick look on the Amazon site for equivalent items, and though I didn’t find an equivalent set, each individual item can be found for a fiver or less, though the pointless case probably adds to the cost.Taking all this into account I’m afraid that I can only give this grooming set two stars. I was about to give it one, but the brush does at least remove excess fur.

The first thing you notice about about this set is the case. Brightly coloured and the material feels very good quality. The zip and tag are well attatched as are the carry/hanging strap and the elasticated tool holders.The case also has a handy little pocket which contains a grooming instruction booklet but could be used for business cards or notes etc.Although both the brush and comb handles are the same length I found the brush comfortable to hold and use, the comb seemed more tricky to hold still whilst using it. I think it's because the brush has a wider top and is a bit lighter in weight so that balances it out more. The nail clippers fit comfortably on the fingers. I haven't used those yet.The rabbit was having none of it, not easily defeated I moved onto my two Chinchillas. The small fine brush is perfect for them, they bathe in sand not water and often shed a lot of fur.For the comb I moved onto the cats and it's the perfect size for them. They just sat there and let me comb them. The two sizes of teeth are good as I have three short hair and one longer haired cat. It's easy to get the fur out of the comb.I also have an Akita who is shedding a whole dogs worth of furv a day at the moment. I use a shedding blade on him but the small tooth side of the comb was good for getting the fur around his hips, knees and under his chin out.A great little set that can be used for multiple animals. I definitely recommend it.

The set comes in nice little case to keep the items together.The clippers work really well. They are nice and sharp so they cut immediately. The only issue is the finger and thumb holes aren't very big especially the thumb, so are a bit uncomfortable to use.The comb works well. I didn't like the brush as its very sharp and could potentially scratch the guinea pigs skin. Need to have rounded bits on the end to protect their sensitive skin.So because I'd only use 2 of the 3 items it's only 3 out of 5 starsI hope you found this review useful.If you have a question, I always try to respond when Amazon forwards them to me.

I can't believe they want nearly £30 for this, its not worth a tenner. I opened this up to look at the combs etc and couldn't zip it back up due the to way the zipper kinks -the zip was stuck fast and I was afraid of breaking it, it took me 15 mins of pulling, pushing, wiggling to get it closed again. The quality of the grooming tools does not live up to expectation, its just not worth the money they are asking
