I wouldn't say this is the highest quality mandolin slicer. The plastic feels a bit cheap, however the cost is very inexpensive as well. So you get what you pay for. It does do the job alright, as the blade is quite sharp. Which makes the guard a very necessary item for the safety of your hands. Especially since there is nothing on the bottom to make it grip to the counter. It seems to slip and slide a bit while trying to slice, so it would be very easy to slip and possibly cut yourself. Also, the plastic piece that you put the food into is quite small. So for larger items you would have to cut them down to size to fit into it. I also like the adjustable blade feature, so you can slice things to your desired thickness. All in all though, it is a decent slicer for the price.

Bought this to make the viral cucumber salad and it’s works great and is easy to clean. Super easy to use! The blade is super sharp so make sure you store it away from kids. You can adjust the thickness of the cut and definitely worth the money spent. It’s a bargain!

This Mandoline Slicer is really small. I knew that, from the dimensions shown on the product listing page. But I live alone, and my cooking and food preparation are almost always just "dinner for one", so I thought it might be a practical and helpful addition to my kitchen. The slicer arrives in a nice box that would be suitable for gift-giving. There are no Instructions included, and very little information on the box. Referring back to the product listing page provides a little more guidance, but assembling the slicer, for me, still came down to trial and error, common sense, and experience with the larger variations of this kind of kitchen tool. It took just a few minutes to put it together. I decided to start with an English cucumber. Getting the slicer to perform with the smooth, fast, gliding strokes that make a mandoline sometimes a better choice than a sharp knife was, for me, more trial and error in terms of how to position the slicer, and where to place my hands. But after a few more minutes, it did work quite well. I had set the blade to the thickest slice position, and the slicer delivered moderately thick slices, very even and uniform. As they are supposed to do, the slices collect in the transparent catch-box underneath. My next test was using a carrot. That was more difficult, requiring more force, but it did work. I should point out that the thickest slice setting for the blade, in my opinion, slices carrots just fine for a salad or veggie platter, but thinner than I would want them for cooking. My final test subject was a handful of almonds, because those are shown in the pictures on the box. To my surprise, the device did succeed in slicing the almonds to a fairly uniform thickness. That process required more force in use, with some jamming, and I am sure that slicing nuts must be hard on the sharpness of the blade. But this small Mandoline Slicer did perform exactly as it is supposed to. Washing it was easy, except for remembering to avoid touching the blade. I am not sure how often I will use this item. For the amounts I need, most of the time it is quicker and easier to use a knife. But if I do have a guest, and I want my salad to look nice, with evenly sliced cucumbers, etc., then this slicer will do a better job at providing that. Despite its size, this slicer is a pretty good little product.

Washed it by hand and used it once and it worked fine - I wasn’t expecting much for the price.Ran it through the dishwasher and the clear collection box melted.
