Fits the Audi Q5 2024 Sportback perfectly. Much preferred over the stock filter.

I've been using K&N filters for years in all of my cars. I even recommended them to my friends and family. This particular model fits my Audi A4 with a B9 engine without issues. The description suggests cleaning every 5 years, but I tend to inspect it every oil change and clean every 2 years. This filter comes sprayed with air filter oil, so don't forget to spray it lightly after cleaning. No noticeable performance or increased engine noise. This filter sits in an air box, so the suction noise is muffled, but it definitely improves air flow.

Einfaches montieren. Es passt einwandfrei an meinen RS4. Es gibt zwar keinen (Sport)Ansauggeräusch aber man merkt den Unterschied im Vergleich mit den Original.

K&N E-0646 installed in Audi A4 Avant Quattro (2016; 252PS on a 310 bhp tune)We had trouble-free positive experiences with K&N in-the-box filter-replacements before in our Peugeot 106 Rallye (1.6L; 103PS to 130PS blue printed) and Lancia Delta Integrale Evolutione (turbocharged, non-cat 2.0L; 210 to 260PS ‘chipped’) cars.Yet reading quite some seemingly sincere but negative reviews, I was somewhat hesitative to install the K&N E-0646 replacement filter in our B9.Especially the by some reviewers experienced (lack of) build quality, -QA, ‘rough’ engine issues a/o ECU-CANbus errors had me thinking and is quite different from my own experiences.Besides, the factory installed OEM paper-filter by MANN for this B9 (used upto RS4!), is generally considered performant enough without being a restrictive bottleneck (especially when new/ regularly changed). So why replace the OEM Audi by MANN for this K&N filter for at least 3 times the price?Besides K&N and general online claims for marginal bhp/Nm increases (📺Tyre Reviews / 📺Engineering Explained) and better ‘flow’, at least because the factory installed MANN paper filter lasts for a maximum of 30k miles/ 50k km.While a K&N lasts a cars lifetime if cleaned and re-lubed around the same intervals, as we did with K&N filters in our previous cars. So after about 3 cleanings you are break-even on costs.Anyway, still curious and with a positive bias towards K&N from the past, I decided to give this E-0646 filter a try in our much more technically advanced B9…Packaging and QualityPackaging, K&N build-quality and ‘in the box’ fitment of this E-0646 I received was perfectly fine and as expected from K&N.InstallationActually, the installation of this K&N ‘mushroom’ type filter was, because of its perfect 1:1 replacement dimensions compared to OEM, really a Plug ’n Play breeze.Installation would effectively have taken me less then 5 minutes, if the filter-box wasn’t in need of a proper vacuum-cleaning being somewhat infested by leaves and remnants of bugs 2 years since the last Audi dealer installed another MANN filter from new and obviously without any cleaning thereafter.ExperiencesAfter some mileage, like in our other cars, again no issues, no Engine error lights with K&N in our ‘stage1’ tuned B9 whatsoever. Also OBD11 doesn’t register any related logged CANbus errors. Our B9 seems fine with this K&N both under load during spirited driving, short max acceleration and when just pottering around town. Long-term experiences on the German Autobahn, the Ring and twisty Alpine passes hopefully turn out the same?As with the other 2 cars, the air-intake ‘breathing’ sounds coming from the heavily insulated B9 engine-bay, seems a tad more audible at most. Performance increase with this K&N (vs. the MANN which wasn’t an airflow bottleneck either), could be a few bhp up yet not really noticeable with the already extra sporty ECU mapping. The latter in contrast to our former naturally aspirated 106 (with hardly any insulation) which indeed felt and sounded more spirited after installing the K&N.SummaryAll in all, this in the box OEM replacement by K&N is again a pleasure to install and use. Therefore, from my non-sponsored personal experiences, I can recommend the E-0646.UPDATE:Doubtful I decided to return this filter to K&N.Since after examining the many 📺 YouTube videos (like the ones mentioned in my initial reviews) and online fora, about the trade-off between more airflow (i.e for marginal gains in bhp/torque/sound) vs. less filtering capability of tiny particles (i.e. to protect the engine) all ‘open’ sport filters choose, I decided to be ‘better safe than sorry’ and put back in a newly ordered fresh factory standard MANN filter. Even though K&N argues otherwise on their site-blog about capturing microscopic particles by their high flow air filters. Also because this modern OEM paper filter isn’t really restrictive nor a bottleneck for the amount of air my mildly tuned VAG TFSI engine needs and the car is still under Audi Longlife Maintenance.Replacing this standard OEM MANN filter more often than its 90k(!) KM service intervals dictates a/o vacuüm-clean this paper filter and its airbox more often, seems the wiser choice.Besides, to also prevent possible -regularly reviewed- future issues with the Audi its sensitive MAF sensor becoming soiled by tiny drops of filter-oil being sucked in overtime, contaminating the MAF sensor its surface to prevent proper airflow reading? Even though K&N argues otherwise on their site article about MAF and Massair.

Absolut zufrieden.
