My husband found a few really old ones in Germany where I lived up to 20 years ago and sent them to me. They were made in Europe, perhaps in Germany, and they are so much better and sharper than the new ones made in China. They look exactly the same but the new Chinese ones are rather blunt so I only use them for very thin silk such as pongé 5.

Most of the pins were in clusters stuck together, and needed to be pried apartA lot of them were quite blunt and difficult to get into the wood, requiring something to bang them in withThe little tool for removal was useful, but a little flimsy, a metal nail file did the the job more effectively.Not a bad price, didn't expect top quality at the price of around £5 for 100Would not buy again, as took too long to separate the pins, and find the sharpest to use, also the hammering was not appreciated by my kids, or cats.

Easy to insert and the small tool supplied is excellent for removing the sticks. It does however leave a hole in the silk. This is not a problem if it’s at the periphery but if it’s in part of a panel to go in a dress it would be.
