It does what it says, I ordered it to be able to use my home server from my bedroom using my 65 inch TV, and it has worked wonderfully for me, it is very useful to be able to use a mouse and keyboard on the RX side to control my server that is downstairs.Something to keep in mind. This KVM is a video extender that uses CAT6, so connecting it to a network switch or router to duplicate the video by IP will not work, do not try it!Also, the required cable is at least CAT6, but as the distance increases, a better cable will make a difference in the operation of the video and USBs, I have it with a CAT6E cable of about 150 feet and it works without any issues.Among the points to improve is the resolution, 1080P is a more than sufficient resolution for multiple tasks at home or in the office, but if you want to install it in a bar, restaurant or cafeteria would be better a higher resolution even if I lost a little transmission distance.Otherwise, as long as you properly connect the power to the RX and the cable is the right one, it works like a charm!

A couple points up front, this is not for connecting to an ethernet switch. You need a CAT6 or above cable directly connected between both ends. I am trying an IP based device from another vendor as well, but until then I am using this one and it works really well.I should have checked inside the box first because it comes with a USB A to USB A cable that you need to plug from the PC you are extending. On the other end that you connect to Monitor/Keyboard/Mouse, you actually only need to connect one USB cable to connect multiple USB devices over the extender. I have mine connected to another multiport KVM switch, so my keyboard, mouse, USB headphones, and Yubikey all connect over the single USB cable and this extender. You could use a hub or something simpler if you like. During my initial testing I just grabbed an ethernet patch cord and I had some intermittent problems with the USB devices freezing. I changed the patch cord to a CAT6a shielded cord and the USB issues went away, so if you are experiencing a problem with USB devices it could be a bad connectiong between the TX and the RX ends.I am using it at 1920x1080p60, and here is what I am doing with it. I had a laptop in my house fail, and starting looking for a replacement. It was really being used more like a desktop computer anyway, so I started looking at options. I discovered that you can get really high power off-lease servers on Ebay that have power CPU's, lot's of RAM, SAS/SATA RAID controllers built in, they just lack good video cards. Well turns out you can repurpose an old NVIDIA card like an RTX2060 and some of these servers have the extra PCIe power plugs you need to energize the video. The biggest problem is these are very noisy with all the fans, but I have a 42RU rack in a closet so noise isn't a problem for me, but extending the keyboard video and mouse was until I got this extender.Turns out it works very well and you get a seriously powerful computer for a tiny fraction of the price. It's actually totally silent now in the space where the monitor and keyboard are being used.

I ran a CAT7 shielded cable from my garage out to my shed. In the shed I have a Hikvision NVR video camera security system and it's always a pain to go out there and work on it with a tiny HDMI monitor and awkward mouse (no flat space really). This allowed me to connect that system in the shed to my HDMI KVM in my garage as another input. It works great and was easy to do. Note that the power connector is just attached to the receiver unit, and the transmitter gets its power from the network cable. It includes the USB A to USB A cable to attach the transmitter to your device, and I used a regular HDMI cable to get the video connected to the box from the NVR.
