Used this alternator to replace the Bosch alternator on my John Deere 1530. I also replaced the voltage regulator mounted on the firewall. The prongs on the back of the alternator mated with the existing plug on the tractor. The back of the alternator was oriented incorrectly for this application and I had to rotate the front housing 120 degrees to get a better match for the connections. The pulley on my old alternator was designed for the 1/2" wide belt used on the tractor. This unit had a 3/8 belt groove on the undersized diameter pully. Happily I was able to transfer my old pulley to the new alternator. I found that the pulley supplied did not have a keyway machined into it. The alternator shaft was machined for a woodruff key. Again, my old alternator key fit the new unit. When mounting, the base mounting hole is for a 3/8 bolt. My tractor has a 5/16 mounting bolt. The fit is therefore sloppy. The top ear for the adjusting bolt would not accept the 5/16-18 bolt from the old alternator. I had to take the alternator back off and run a 5/16-18 tap through the bolt hole. I found I was cutting new threads and my guess is that the original thread was metric. When the tractor is started, the engine RPMs must be increased in order for the alternator to switch on. Once the alternator is switched on, it puts out 14.9 volts. That is a bit high but that is an issue with the regulator, not the alternator. Due to the various installation issues I can only give this alternator a 3 out of 5 stars. In the compatibility list, my JD 1530 is listed. I would rate that at "Just Barely"

Leider wurde die Lichtmaschine nicht in der Form geliefert, wie sie auf dem Foto des Angebots abgebildet war.Es fehlten die Steckkontakte die auf dem Foto abgebildet waren. Meine alte (defekte) Maschine war mit den Kontakten ausgerüstet, weshalb ich den Kauf bei diesem Unternehmen tätigte. Die Maschine konnte zwar verwendet werden, aber mir sind erhebliche Umbaukosten in der Fachwerkstatt entstanden. Außerdem war der Preis für diese Maschine, wie sie geliefert wurde (ohne Steckkontakte) nicht marktgerecht. Ich hätte sie bei anderen Unternehmen in dieser Form erheblich günstiger bekommen können.
