Today is Thursday, Thanksgiving 2020. For reference and to understand my particular experience thus far and how it might help as a product review; I installed 2 of these into the dual-intake cold air set up on my 2009 3.0L V6 Mercedes sedan. Most Benzes come with a twin intake set up. I have carbon fiber intake tubes and Spectre "cone" filters, though they're more like a cone with the top 50% cut off. Pretty sweet, really. I have an X pipe after the catalytic converters, and straight-piped exhaust out each side with 2.5" pipes. The car sounded amazing, like an AMG V8 BEFORE I installed them. And it was pretty darn fast, too. I installed them after work on Tuesday two days ago. I put one in each carbon fiber intake tube. I took a test drive at 10pm. Immediately upon pulling out onto a fast moving double yellow lines street where I can zip up to 50mph quickly, I noticed the sound was different and the power delivery was more aggressive. As I continued around turns and up the highway I was blown away with the sound and performance. Now it sounded like a Ferrari V8, or some other high-revving flat plane crank engine. It sounds cleaner and revs faster. And the intake whine is more pronounced, almost like a belt-driven supercharger. I heard about these devices in a video about fake performance parts and wasting money on performance scams. So I looked them up. I saw the price. I paid like $15 for 2 of them with a coupon code automatically applied. Even so, I was willing on $20-30 to see for myself. It seemed simple enough and I couldn't figure out why it WOULDN'T work. It sounded right. Also, I thought they would be cheap Chinese crap and get what I paid for at $15. They are actually Japanese, which means awesome. The aluminum construction is high quality, and they have a good weight to them. The turbine action is clean and smooth, and it blows strong when I spun it with my finger, so I imagine the air rushing through at 90mph will really amplify the effect. These things are awesome. I can't believe the sound and power delivery provided. Really fantastic. Like anything else, you can only get the most from it if it is applied correctly. That is why i have described my personal set up for this review. In my car, the filters are in front of the turbines relative to air flow, and air comes directly in to the filters from the road. The forced induction created goes straight to the chamber through rigid carbon fiber intake tubes. That's why it works. If you have a single intake and no cold air set up in your car and stick one of these intakes into a soft-sided or rubber accordian shaped intake hose, the forced induction created goes straight in to a paper air filter and dies. It won't work. I won't say don't bother, I will say to get a cold air intake system and put one in after. It's worth it. Especially for the price. I ordered a second set for $32 just in case there is a better version of this... But I think it's the same and just more expensive from a different supplier. Get one. Or two if you have dual cold air intake systems. Don't get one until you do have that and you will like it.
