I guess I missed the part about this not being able to join 2 manfrotto clamps at 90 degrees on this one. I needed one that would do a 90 so as to clamp going the other way. This will not do that, I'll look for a 90 somewhere, oh well.

This short stud will join two super clamps together, back to back. One half of the stud fits into each super clamp, so they fit together tightly.It's made from aluminum and is very light, but it's also thick and very strong.This was designed for the Manfrotto Super Clamp but will also work with Impact Super Clamp , Kupo Convi Clamp , and all the other other super clamp knockoffs that have the same size female stud socket.There are two versions of this stud available, each will allow you to mount the clamps at different angles to each other. One stud cannot achieve all angles due to limitations of way the studs can fit into the 5/8" hexagonal female receiver on the clamps. This stud (Manfrotto 061) will mount the clamps in parallel, or at 180°, 120º or 60º but not at 90°. The 061RA right angle stud will allow you to mount the clamps at a 90°, 30º, or 150º offset.It's a good idea to get both studs if you use them often, you can get almost any angle you need with both of them.

The joining Stud, by Manfrotto, is a necessary piece of equipment that helps a lot join two super clamps! The versatility that this provides is more than you can think in a first impression!
