I think these are a triple primed with gesso. Toothy, paint flows well. Easy to tone the canvas. I tone with an oil paint thinned with turp. Just make sure you use a transparent paint. Choose the color that's going to complement whatever you paint. I like the earthy tones for portraits. Stuff like burnt sienna, yellow ocher or raw sienna. For landscape I use a little bit of French ultramarine thinned with turpentine. Make sure you're using turpentine and not turpinol original because that won't dry.

These are not ok. I really would not waste your money on them. As you see from the pictures. The corners are not folded properly. The canvas is not cut straight and they are full of bent over creases. They also have no corner stretching pegs. I would never purchase these again. Total shoddy workmanship. I am returning them as I can't use them to sell my artwork as I was planning to do so.
