I bought this for my hunting dog , medium size lab . I bought this vest and the first time we went out hunting the zipper broke in half , ordered a replacement and the exact same thing happened but when putting it on him early morning . Great design and idea but trash zipper . Why you have a plastic zipper ? Weakest point in the whole vest . Have always loved momarsh products but this one needs improvements

Like the vest the adjustability it great. This vest really can fit any dog properly. The only issue is the zipper. First time out my dog fell out of the duck boat(he's still just a pup so this happens often) when I grabbed the handle to save him from getting hit by the propeller, the zipper completely failed and he just rolled out of the vest. He wasn't hurt. It's a longtail motor so I was able to lift the prop out of the water in time. After looking into it I noticed a tooth in the zipper is missing. Not sure if this was before or after he fell out of it. That being said I will still be exchanging it for a new one in hopes that this one was just defective. This is still the best fitting and warmest dog vest I've gotten so far. And the camo is pretty cool. Hopefully he will be able to stay in the next one. I would suggest picking your dog up by the handle before taking it out to the feild just in case.Update. New vest came and there is no issue with the zipper. First one was just an oddball defect. Love this vest would recommend it to anyone.

A very mixed review, but I cannot give this product anything less than a 5 star.We ordered this vest for our petite (20kg) GSP bitch. We work her and she has had a few injuries from branches, so we decided she needed some protection. We found this vest online and so purchased it after reading reviews and watching videos. We ordered it and it arrived quite promptly, considering it came from America (although it felt like ages, as we were so excited!). It arrived with Evri despite Amazon saying it would arrive with DPD and it arrived a few days sooner than Amazon said it would. We opened it as soon as it arrived and found no instructions inside, so went off Youtube videos (that we had already watched) to try to fit it to our dog.This is where it went downhill.We quickly realised that there was something wrong with the coat. Nothing was lining up correctly. So, we spent 30 minutes a day on a few different days trying again. But, we couldn't get it to work. So, we contacted Amazon and they said they could arrange a return, which isn't what we wanted. So, we messaged Momarsh on Facebook, thinking we would get a response pretty quickly. 3 days passed, nothing. So, we emailed them. 3 days passed again, NOTHING. So, we tried another email account, days passed, nothing. So, we tried via their website, we couldn't send a message, error. So, we tried email AGAIN. Still nothing. 2-3 weeks on, still NOTHING BACK. Major disappointment. We even tried their sister companies, nothing back. We made up a whole PDF doc of pics to send to them to work out what we were doing wrong (or if it was indeed faulty).In the end, we gave up. We ordered another vest. Another £110 out of our pockets. Kept the old one so we didn't end up with the same one coming back to us. Waited a week for a new one to arrive. The new one arrived and it was COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. The first one we had was clearly returned by someone else (hence the missing instructions) who also found it didn't work, as it was faulty. The whole vest was misaligned. The zip wasn't installed right, throwing the whole vest out of shape. So, we returned the first vest, as faulty, with a note to explain. It would be nice it Momarsh bothered to follow up with us. Very disappointed in their lack of communication.The second vest fits our dog amazingly, had it on her within 5-10 mins, fits awesome, top quality, will protect her well. Length it brilliant. Fits perfectly in the right areas. No gaps. I love it and the concept is fantastic. The product itself deserves 5 star.

Very happy with the quality of this vest. It seems like it offers good physical protection as well as heat retention. Also the customer service from this company is top notch. Recommended all round.

I received my new MoMarsh VersaVest in Gore Optifade camo last month. I am super impressed with this dog vest. I have struggled over the years to find pet vests for my retrievers that fit well.The two primary functions I expect a vest to provide are thermal protection to keep my dog warm (especially when she is in cold water) and puncture/laceration protection from sharp sticks or other hazards. A vests ability to enhance concealment is a good benefit but not critical in most of my hunting scenarios. I do really like the Optifade patterns though. Previous vests I have owned from Cabela’s, Avery and others have done a marginal job at covering and protecting my labs chest but to provide good thermal protection a vest needs to fit to the particular dogs body and my previous vests haven’t done this well. I have also had a tough time selecting the right size vest in the past. Also, picked up a set of white panels for snow goose hunts.Sizing and Fit*****MoMarsh really set a new standard for getting the perfect customized fit for my dog. Dogs come in a variety of body shapes and styles and sizes. I have always had a tough time getting vests to fit my dogs properly. My last two labs have generally have a large deep chest but a fairly slim waist. I would end up buying three different vests and picking the one that fit the least bad to hunt with and then go through the same process for my next dog. Other vests have to be selected based on the dogs biggest dimension and then hang loose on the smaller areas. When I fit the VersaVest to my dog for the initial set up I was blown away with how well I was able to conform it to the exact body shape of my dog. Basically a custom tailor made fit once its set up and doesn’t need to be refit. I found a video on line that gave detailed instructions on how to properly do the initial fitting. The “one size fits all” claim seemed too good to be true but the Versa Vest really delivered. I did notice they mentioned an oversize chest panel for extremely large dogs but this thing should easily fit any hunting retriever.Protection for the dog***** Clearly the best vest on the market to protect your dog from injury. This hunting vest combines a highly durable chest panel (way tougher than thin neoprene on other brands) and a multi-layer system that incorporates durable camo panels on the back/sides. Makes me feel way better when my dog is launching into the water. I always try to thoroughly inspect the areas my dog will be entering the water for hazards but it is impossible to always have the area the dog is working in be 100% safe from hazards.Warmth and insulation*****One of the main functions I want a vest to deliver on is keeping my dog insulated and retaining body heat when they have extended time in cold water. Hypothermia is a real risk for dogs working in cold water, especially on repetitive or long retrieves. This is the other benefit of having a truly custom fit to the dogs body shape. This vest really limits the areas that water can freely enter and flow across my dogs skin. Having a nice snug fit provides way better heat retention.Durability***** This thing is bombproof. A whole different magnitude of durability. I saw some earlier negative reviews on D rings and stitching but the folks at MoMarsh must have listened to the feedback because this thing has upgraded components and the fabric and stitching look really solid. Also, the way the set up the panels to overlap the heavy duty zipper adds even more durability to the Vest.I can highly recommend the MoMarsh VersaVest.
