I finished my fourth long run with my new hydration vest yesterday - 10 miles. It has been a wonderful companion, able to store everything I need as well as plenty of water. I personally have no problem with the fact that the bladder holds 1.5L - I prefer a smaller amount because I won’t go more than a half marathon with it. If I ever need to go on a longer excursion, I will buy a 3L bladder and then my vest will be even more versatile.The vest holds my chapstick and fuel in the front straps next to my chest so I can easily access them.I did trim the straw and I highly recommend doing that unless you’re 6 ft or taller, otherwise you’ll have a lot of slack getting in your way. You can look up videos on YouTube for how to do this.The vest doesn’t move as I run, but my ice filled bladder does make a sloshy noise. Personally I’d rather have ice cold water making a sloshy noise than silent warm water to drink. The taste has been much better than my old Camelbak, which always had a nasty taste. With this straw and bladder I don’t taste anything but refreshing water.I have gotten better at being able to drink while running, and I recommend holding the straw out in front of you, sort of like if you were holding a trumpet. The water flows well that way. I have included a picture so you can see. It takes a couple of tries to get the sweet spot on the bite valve.The zippers are flawless, the material is sleek and the marine blue color is gorgeous.Tips for cleaning: when I’m finished using my vest, I remove the straw from the bladder, empty the bladder of as much water as I can, and then stick a few paper towels into the corners of the bladder. I slip a pair of tongs in there to hold it open, and put it on my AC vent so that the air can quickly dry out the inside of the bladder. Then, I remove the bite valve from the straw, which comes off pretty easily - I have included a picture so you can see where to detach it. I get as much water out of the straw as I can by swinging it around like a lasso (maybe do this part outside), and that also helps to break apart the drops of water so they’re smaller. Then I position the straw over my AC vent as well, and clean and dry the bite valve. By morning, all is dry.Overall, I’m extremely pleased with my Nathan hydration vest and I would recommend it to anyone who needs one.

Very comfortable and have logged many miles wearing this vest. Gone longer than I should between washings and doesn’t smell. Would buy again.

There's a lot I love about this backpack, however few design flaws have few drawbacks on the general satisfaction. I intended to use this backpack on longer adventure races (running, biking, swimming, canoeing) to carry all the mandatory and additional gear needed for 24+h racing. My experience when using Nathan Pinnacle close to its maximum capacity:Negative side1) the side pockets do not have any fasteners and there's a risk of losing the gear/stuff on the track. These pockets are quite secure while the backpack is carried due to the tension from the elastic material, but as soon as the pack is taken off, there's nothing to prevent stuff falling off from these pockets (which I experienced). A zipper fastener's (like on Nathan's VaporAir) would take off the stress of losing anything from these pockets on the track;2) the kangaroo-style pockets for clothing have only small velcro fastener to close up the pocket opening which is opening downwards of the bag. Unfortunately, when the back is filled, this velcro fastener tends to come loose very easily. Once the small velcro gets loose, there's not much to keep the stuff in these pockets, thus carrying the risk of losing the gear unnoticed on the track (I lost one). The velcro fastener also tends to stick to wool-made (merino) clothing, carrying a risk of damaging it (got experience with that). More secure fastner (e.g. zipper) would be a way better solution to secure these pockets.Neutral3) Sizing can be tricky. The size recommended by Nathan was a way too small.Positive side;4) the bag is really lightweight;5) it is really comfortable to wear, does not bounce in any conditions;6) plenty of different compartments for easy gear organization;7) durable. While passing through forest with dense dried spruce branches, the fabric got several scratches but did not rip;8) good quality insulated HydraPak hydration pack included, although 1.6L is rather small volume considering that the size of this bag is probably aimed for a longer duration events;
