I am very impressed with this fresnel attachment. It’s straightforward, sturdy, and performs exceptionally well when used with lights that have an output of 200 watts or more. I particularly enjoy using it with my 300-watt LED lights. The package comes with a lot of extras, including a fantastic carrying case and barn doors, which was a delightful surprise. The rotating collar functions excellently, allowing you to adjust the focus and spread of the light as needed. While the build quality is good, it’s not flawless. It will definitely last a long time, but there are other options available that provide similar performance with slightly better construction. Overall, it’s a fantastic fresnel, and you will be very pleased with your purchase.

This is a great accessory to have in your light kit. It is easy to focus and well made, plus comes with barn doors if you need to shape your light further. My only concern is that it is a very heavy modifier that may not be suitable for a lot of the smaller lights that are used in this capacity with a Bowens mount. I think it will be fine on larger lights that have good locking mechanisms especially if you counterbalance it somehow. But just know it is heavy. It also comes with a very nice case that I really appreciate for storage and transport.

This video light cover is a high-quality adjustable Fresnel lens. Fresnel lenses concentrate light shaping it into a beam. Turning the barrel of this lens increases or shortens the distance from the COB LED to the Fresnel lens surface and thereby widens or narrows the beam. It fits any of my Bowen's-mount video lights and gives me the ability to instantly spread or focus light unlike anything possible using my umbrellas or softboxes.The lens body and Fresnel lens measures approximately 11.5" by 6" and both components are constructed using a combination of hard polycarbonate plastics and fiberglass. The lens barrel features a row of exterior buttons that provide extra grip to assist rotating the lens. Rotating the light cover barrel causes it to extend by a few inches thereby varying the light beam output 10-35 degrees as indicated on the barrel.As the lens is large and weighs 5.6 pounds and the barn doors weigh another 3.5 pounds, I found it safest to attach them to the video light while they lie flat on a table and then mount them on a stand. That much weigh in front of the light makes it unstable and I strongly advise using a counterweight on the light stand to prevent an unexpected forward tip.The light kit includes a well-constructed, padded and zippered carrying case that cradles that provides excellent protection from drops and knocks while transporting it. But surprisingly, there's no method to transport the barn doors so I'm ordering an art-portfolio tote bag which typically run about $15. It's definitely worth the extra cost.Actual Use? This Fresnel lens works great! I've attempted to show the effect on my white fence which provides some visual context. The light wattage is the same in all photos. With this lens I can quickly and precisely change my lighting without having to move equipment or change umbrellas or light sources. I think it's especially great for portraits and provides nice even lighting with a natural appearance. The one downside is the lens is heavy and counterbalancing is a must. The light is well vented, but if high wattage lights are used for prolonged periods, (max rating 600W), the outside can get hot.Bottom Line: Excellent Fresnel lens kit! Quality construction, ease of operation and provides great versatility to change lighting outputs. Great for portraits, product photography and for in-studio videography. Will need to purchase an art-portfolio bag to transport the barn doors and counterweights will be needed to prevent light tips as kit weighs over nine pounds!

Such a nice lens. First off, 1" is really big for a lens, so the size and beefyness of this lens will surprise you. There are so many great ne COB LEDs on the market these days, but nearly all are open face and non-focusable. Using a Bowens mount reflector helps make the light more directional, but unless you have a lens, its really not easy to get the light where you need and want it. This lens does that, and the huge metal barn doors, helps you keep the light from spilling where you don't want it. The construction of the lens is nice, the body is heavy plastic (Zytel?) and the lens is glass. It comes with a beautiful zippered 'hat box' case which definitely pads and protects. Unfortunately, they dont provide a case of any type for the barn doors, which is really a drag. I need to figure out how Im going to case them up, and as you would expect they are really big too.All in all, this is another win from Neewer and one that I would recommend for anyone using COB LEDs in large spaces.
