I got the 77mm version and it works very well on the Canon 70-200mm f2.8 lens. Was able to do a two minute exposure indoors with no color cast, vignette or banding. The threaded filter has an easy to adjust ring and also has a magnetic outer edge to easily attach the additional (non variable) neutral density filter for cutting additional light if needed. Very easy and convenient. As others have mentioned, these filters aren't threaded so you can add more filters to the outside of these so it you need to stack different filters, these would need to be the last that go on. Also note that the lens cap (in my case) wouldn't attach when the filters are on the lens.A really great set of ND filters and well worth the money if you do a lot of long exposure photography or any video where you want to keep your aperture open and your shutter speed low.

These shots were taken with a new Canon R5 Mkii, ISO50 and 1/50 sec, a Canon f/4 24-105 zoom set to about 90mm. In one case, the ND filter is set to just under 3 stops, maybe 2.8 and the aperture is f/4. In the other case, there is no ND filter, the aperture is set to f/10. All RAW image tuning in Adobe Bridge is identical. The cropped shots show more detail, but the bottom line is: if anything, the shot with the variable ND set to 3 (ND8) and f/4 is slightly clearer than the shot at f/10 and a UV filter. I see no image distortion or color alteration with this filter. I ordered a Neewer 82mm lens cap to fit this filter. It attaches, but the threaded lip on the ND filter is very narrow; it feels like it just barely hangs on - by a thread perhaps. The lens cap (2 in the box) includes an anti-loss strap - probably a good idea. With the filter in place, the Canon lens hood cannot be attached, neither before, because of the 82mm filter size vs the 77mm lens size, nor after, because of the adjustment lever that protrudes about 3/8" from the filter. Adjustment is smooth and has reasonable friction, so that you trust it will remain in place wherever you set it from ND1 (ND factor of 2) to ND5 (ND factor of 32). There are no detents at the individual stops. The magnetic ND32 add-on, which has no threads and cannot be used alone, so with it in place, you're getting ND6 (ND factor of 64) to ND 10 (ND factor of 1024). Neewer says the range is ND1 to ND9, which would be an ND factor of 512; perhaps that's right - no point quibbling over this megadark range of ND.Notwithstanding the lens-hood fit and the lens cap hanging by a thread, this is optically an excellent product in my opinion, and a clever solution (a variable element + a fixed element) to the X and color distortion problem. In show business, it's important to keep video shutter speed at 1/2xframe rate, and I shoot 24 fps, so I need 1/50 sec. Even at low ISOs (50-100), you'll need to either stop down your lens or use an ND if you want an even exposure, and if you stop down, you may have to give up bokeh. This ND will get you wherever you want to be. Good work, Neewer. And no, Neewer is not paying me to say that; unbought and unbossed. Neither is Jeff Bezos, but he should :)
