Um die volle Funktion nutzen zu können, für mich im japanischen, muss man mit dem Internet verbunden sein, ansonsten kann der Stift vertikal nicht einlesen. Horizontal funktioniert problemlos auch offline.Praktisch an dem Stift ist, dass der Text auch direkt vorgelesen wird und nicht nur übersetzt. So kann ich auch die Aussprache üben.

The main reason why I bought this item was to support me in the reading of Japanese books as I try to develop a more sophisticated vocabulary. It happens that the majority of literature in Japanese, especially narrative, is printed vertically and this pen was not able to read it.Apart from this big flaw, I also noticed that the accuracy of the translations proposed for Japanese and Korean sentences was not very accurate and definitely not better than what google translate could do.I didn’t test it on other languages and maybe it is indeed a great product if applied to English, French, Spanish, German, etc.

1. I chose this product for offline translation of scanned text. Although the scanning accuracy is very good - every word of the original language is correctly scanned - the offline translation is very bad. After connecting it to WIFI, the online translation is very good. I have to use it online only.2. The instructions do not say that the clear tip must be pressed on the paper until it is retracted slightly and the scanning light turns on. I had to figure this out.3. There is a tiny mark on the clear scanning tip that is supposed to be aligned with the text. When the scanning light is on, the mark is mostly invisible.4. The device reads out loud the scanned text in the original language. There is an icon to press for reading it out in the translated language, but there is no way to make it default.

Super pratique lors de déplacements à l'étranger. Bémol pour la partie vocale il faut mettre le code wifi (pour chaque nouveau lieu ou vous irez) ce qui est dommage à moins que je ne connaisse pas encore tout de cet appareil

I bought this for my kid who has an IEP. This helps her tremendously when she has to do independent work and need that extra support and teachers are busy. It was easy to set up. Just input your wifi and connect it.

Once you get the hang of it, it's very accurate, good for what you're paying (even though you are paying a lot) and performance is pretty good.but there are two things i'd say. battery life isn't perfect but if you charge it daily, it should have more than enough and it can take some fiddling to figure out and you have to keep it on the line so really good for someone who's dyslexic but probably not for someone with a kind of visual impairment
