I've had this basket as my daily driver for 3 months.My recipe:1:1 Ristretto shot starting with 22g of coffee beans6 ounces of milkPros: (good size, high quality construction, tasty espresso)I really like this basket, I had been using the stock basket from Rocket prior to purchasing the Norm Core high extraction basket. The increased capacity is nice going from 18g of beans to 22g of beans. It feels pretty solid in your hands, really good construction. It gives you that espresso rain effect that I've come to love.Cons: (paper filters are required, lacks ease of cleaning)When it comes to cleaning I have to say it falls a little short. Something to note, the paper filters that come with the basket are not as optional as you might think. I've found over the past 3 months that not using the filters causes grounds to be stuck in the holes, and can make for a bad experience trying to clean. I feel this is especially so, when trying to pull back to back shots without a filter. While I prefer paper filters anyway, I think you should have good results regardless for a product at this price point.

Le produit est d’excellente qualité. La construction est solide. Le panier est magnétique ce qui est rare chez certains fabricants. Il va ainsi parfaitement fonctionner avec un dosing funnel magnétique. Ayant des centaines d’ouvertures miniatures, l’extraction semble plus uniforme, le panier ne plie pas autant qu’un panier traditionnel. Cependant, il est beaucoup plus difficile de nettoyer les ouvertures et ce même si on le rince et on l’essuie rigoureusement. J’aimerais beaucoup essayer le même panier mais pour une plus petite dose, car mes pucks sortaient très liquides (ce qui est normal en utilisant 18g dans un panier de 22g)

Using this basket seemed to increase clarity in shots, highlighting flavour separation. Downsides are that the holes clog every single time for me if I don't use a paper filter on the bottom. I prefer the additional texture in my shots without paper filters, and don't want to the added effort in cleaning the basket between shots, so into the drawer it goes.It's well built, magnetic, and does what it's supposed to do. If crisp espresso is what you're after, it might be worth picking up.

I have been pulling shots of espresso for about 3 months, so I am a noob. I’m using an E61 heat exchanger and have had mixed results mostly because of lack of control of the water temp. Anyhow, I tried MULTIPLE IMS baskets including the Big Bang and found that the stock baskets that came with my machine prevented channeling and pulled better shots (less sour, silkier, consistent). I frustratingly kept returning IMS baskets and then I noticed that Normcore had a line of filter baskets and they piqued my interest. The only Normcore basket available on Amazon is 22g, I usually like to use 18-20g baskets but I have no regrets with this larger one. Their baskets come with paper filters as well as a puck screen - I have not used any of these items before but am excited to experiment. The grounds do tend to get stuck in the holes after each use but they are easy to clean out with some water and a brush, I’m sure using the filter paper prevents this. The shots are silky, I have pulled several shots with little to no channeling. Additionally, my normcore funnel actually attaches to the basket unlike my experience with IMS baskets where the magnets would not grab. Very impressed so far, will likely be purchasing more baskets from Normcore as they become available on Amazon and will try filter paper and puck screens next.
