These shirts are incredibly soft, but the material is a little thick and not as breathable as other UV protective long sleeves. These did not do all that well in 110° heat, so I just ended up wearing them in the evening when it was cooler outdoors.

The sleeves covering my forearm are too loose for surfing and creating drag. thus requiring me to roll it up a but and defeating the purpose of long sleeves.

My last name is Smith but this said O'Neill on the front for some reason. I caved to peer pressure and introduced myself as Mr. O'Neill to everyone at the beach. That was over a month ago. The name kind of stuck so I had my name legally changed so that I don't have to lie to strangers anymore. My first name is actually Neil so I feel sort of silly now having the name Neil O'Neill and I always need to explain that it's actually Neil with just one L. I'm just glad I found a special lady recently at the beach who likes me despite my odd name. I don't know her first name yet but she confirmed my guess that her last name is Quicksilver. I can tell these things just by looking at someone. It's like a gift of sorts. Not bragging. Well, back to surfing for me! I mean, I can't just type reviews all day! Thanks for reading my story! Sincerely, Neil O'Neill.

I like this shirt very much. I am 42 with an average build, not too fit, not too flabby. I am also a red head so I do not tan and burn easily. I love to throw this shirt on when I am not in the water, or for water oriented play like beach volleyball, whitewater rafting or just hanging out around the pool. I like the white because goes with everything and seems cooler than the darker fabrics. This is the second white O'Neill "not tight fitting" rash hard shirt that I have purchased. My first one is kind of a dingy white now and I still wear it, but I wish I would have done a better job separating colors when I washed it last year. Beware - these shirts are pretty susceptible to "redep" . Redep is re-depositing soils, oils, greases, dirt and fabric dyes across a wash load. Wash it separate or with unsoiled other "whites" if you want it to stay bright in color. I am pretty sure that throwing it in the wash with other dark and bright colored swim suits changed mine from "bright white" to white with a hint of gray.
