My under-sink 5-stage reverse osmosis system originally had a K2533 SS 1/4" post-carbon filter installed. Since I needed to replace my filters, I looked online for a replacement. Unfortunately, I could not find a K2533 SS 1/4"; instead, I had to buy a K2533 JJ 1/4" and hope it worked. Fortunately, for me, this post-carbon filter worked with my reverse osmosis system.The main difference between the K2533 JJ 1/4" and the K2533 SS 1/4" is that the latter has two 90° bends at the ends that allow tubing to plug directly into the filter without kinking. The K2533 JJ 1/4" only allows tubing to be inserted parallel to the filter. Fortunately, my tubing was long enough at both ends of the filter such that no kinks developed. Still, the next time I have to replace my post-carbon filter, I'll look for the K2533 SS 1/4" instead.Final score: 9.5/10; Would recommend.

I use these to help the over-priced refrigerator filters (though I tend to still use them to filter the taste from water that sits in the fridge too long...they just last longer now). I have my water line split, one line goes to the fridge and the other line goes to my coffee maker, so it's nice to have an inline filter that services both. The water tastes like...water. It's heavily chlorinated here, and this removes all that taste.

Seems to do a good job of removing odours. Resulting taste is quite balanced - it's not been stripped of all the good stuff.

Great filter. Even though the price has increased considerably since we ordered our 1st one a couple years ago, it's still good value and less expensive on Amazon than in any of the retailers we've checked. The quick connects make it very simple to install, and after running it for 15 minutes to clear the carbon dust and flush it out... the difference in the color, smell and taste we're immediately noticeable. We've attached ours horizontally to the sink drain pipes with cable ties. Quick, neat & tucked out of the way. On our third one now and never had a leak or any problems. Change it about every 6 months.
