The catch that holds the saw in the holster was initially very stiff requiring two hands to remove the saw.Shortly thereafter the catch became so loose it would not hold the saw securely in the holster and it could easily fall out. Otherwise it is a great unit made with high quality materials. I really like the rugged molded in loops that allow you to strap the holster onto your boot or thigh.

I work in tree services, and occasionally I have to tarp a roof late at night so that rain doesn't get in a house before the crew arrives the next day to remove a downed tree. I keep one of these on my toolbelt for clearing small limbs that could tear the tarp. They are inexpensive and you can replace the blades as needed if they can't be sharpened any further. Easy to use when you're wedged inside of a wet tree, IYKYK. They cut fairly quickly being they are cut on the push and the pull. The blade is long enough that you could easily cut a 6 inch limb/tree, but I personally wouldn't cut anything larger than 4 inches with it. The only thing I would change about the design is the locking clip on the scabbard. Occassionally, it will not seat properly, and the saw can fall out. All around great saw from a well-known company.

The 5 stars is based on the saw and the price. Siky Zubat are better, but near double the price or more. For the price, this Oregon hand saw is a very good saw with excellent ergonomics. I also own Silky but don't care to spend $50+ every blade or saw replacement. I knew from other reviews that the Oregon scabbard may have issues. And no kidding. There's near 0% chance any really good arborist would use the Oregon scabbard as a scabbard. Just the saw yes, scabbard on a belt no way. The thumb latch is miserable difficult and the blade teeth get stuck on what looks like a tiny black roller. I found a good option to modify the scabbard so it's at least good and easy to use for protecting teeth during storage. I drilled out the small pin that holds the latch and the roller and pulled loose with vise grips. Then everything was fine. I got mine when the price was close to $36 saving it to a list and watching for a discount. I feel this saw is a good deal anywhere between $35 to $50 but no more because the scabbard holds no real dollar value in my opinion. I had a Samurai bought off Amazon and that was good but not as good as this Oregon one which seems to have a more sturdy blade. The ergonomics of this Oregon saw is near equal with a Silky Zubat.
