Nachdem ich den Deckel aufgelegt hatte, hat die Pumpe erstmal keine Vakuum erzeugt. Eine schnelle Google Suche hat dann ergeben, dass man den Deckel "ein bisschen andrücken" muss, um den Prozess zu starten.Es wäre gut, wenn das auch in der ansonsten sehr detaillierten Anleitung stehen würde. Nicht jeder hat Vakuum Pumpen Grundwissen.Wie sich heraus stellte, bedeutet "ein bisschen andrücken", dass ich mich mit meinen 45 Kilo auf den Pot drauf knien muss, damit es überhaupt funktioniert. Und selbst dann wippe ich eine ganze Zeit auf dem Pot herum, bis er endlich anzieht. Es kann ja sein, dass das normal ist, aber irgendwie muss sich doch mal jemand ein besseres System ausdenken? Das ist so ein bisschen lächerlich und sicherlich auch auf Dauer nicht gut, wenn ich immer auf dem Pot sitze.Ansonsten funktioniert alles. Ich benutze den Pot, um Luftblasen aus Epoxy zu ziehen und es dauert immer locker 10 Minuten, bis ich bei ca. -28,5 angekommen bin, die Geduld verliere und das Epoxy dann benutze, obwohl noch nicht die ganze Luft raus ist.Die Vakuum Pumpe ist von der Lautstärke her okay. Gutes Stück lauter als mein Kompresser der gleichen Größe oder eine durchschnittliche Nähmaschine. Wenn ich länger daneben sitze, ziehe ich Gehörschutz auf.

First use was to pull a vacuum on my cars a/c system after repairs so I could recharge it. The pump pulled to 30inHg in less than a minute and then ran straight and held it there for 30 minutes. No issues at all. Pump is very quiet and seems well built. I will be using this when I install 5 mini split a/c systems in my home this summer, but the pump already paid for itself when used on my car. This is a great pump at a great price and perfect for the DIY'er like me.

The pump is a fair price and it works quite well. However the manual and description isn't very clear when it comes to the sizes of the hoses that can connect to the pump.I did quite a bit of searching and found that this is the male thread OD and thread pitch (tpi) for different flare fittings:1/4" SAE Flare - 7/16-20 tpi5/16" SAE Flare - 1/2-20 tpi3/8" SAE Flare - 5/8-18 tpi1/2" SAE Flare - 3/4-16 tpiAnd the ACME fitting for R134A is a non standard ACME that is 1/2" diameter and 16 tpi (standard 1/2" ACME is 1/2" 10 tpi)The image included in the Amazon listing and the manual for this item show:Front fitting: 3/8" maleTop fitting: 1/4" maleAdapter fitting: 1/2" maleHowever when I measured these fittings with a caliper and a thread gauge I got (see attached photos):Front fitting: 1/2" diameter - 16 tpi (ACME R134A) (manufacturer says this is 3/8")Top fitting: 7/16" diameter - 20 tpi (1/4" SAE flare) (manufacturer says this is 1/4")Adapter fitting: 1/2" diameter 20 tpi (5/16" SAE flare) (manufacturer says this is 1/2")1/4" SAE flare is what is found on many manifold gauge set hoses, so this is normal to find on a vacuum pump. The ACME fitting is also typically found on vacuum pumps (like the Harbor Freight vacuum pump). The 5/16" SAE flare is the size typically found on many mini-split service ports.Another confusing thing is that the manual says to fill with oil "until the reservoir window is completely covered". Yet the sight glass clearly has a min and max mark and the max is not at the very top of the glass. I emailed the manufacturer and they did say to fill between the min and max and not to the top of the sight glass.
