Slotted into some connectors I have for automotive work, keeps battery from sending out power to adjustable DC charger (which I previously learned has no inbuilt protection for this, creates a short). I will find additional use for these with USB-C breakouts, I think, to ensure current goes the way I want rather than the way the devices (esp in power bank to power bank connections) guess it should go.

I bought these to prevent backflow on an in-car system that charges an auxiliary Talentcell lithium battery. The battery can charge and discharge over the same connector by design, and I didn't want the battery to discharge itself into the car's switched-12V circuits. A diode is perfect for such an application, and these Chanzon branded Schottky diodes are doing the trick for me. Note that they can sometimes get uncomfortably warm... but since I can't seem to repeat the issue (and I don't know how much current caused this) I have not been inclined to dig much further or use a different diode. I wouldn't therefore complain about the diode - for all I know, it was experiencing a 10-15A draw, where I would indeed expect the diode to heat up. In normal practice, though, my battery is only pulling 2-3A at 14.0-14.5Vdc, and the diode does not noticeably heat up. I'm actually buying these diodes more frequently than I wanted to because I lost the first shipment after using a few and storing the rest (somewhere). The time came for more diodes in the same automotive application and so I bought the same Chanzon diodes again. I gladly recommend these!

When I tested these diodes on my fluke diode tester mode they passed no problem. I hooked up a 9 volt battery and was reading 8.5 volts through both sides of the diode. A little discouraged but I wired in my led head lights and the diodes did there job and blocked one way and the lights worked the other. I used these diodes for my snow plow controller project. I have western Uni Mount plow that the controller died and I had to build one with a joystick from Amazon. I needed diodes to isolate up solinoid in the right position and right solinoid in the up position but allowed power to both for left position. Worked great got my plow up and running for a fraction of the cost of a new controller. Relays can also be used for this but diodes fit better in the box and cost less than relays. Happy with purchase for there use.
