Ich habe keinen neuwertigen Pickel bekommen.Er weist schon deutliche Gebrauchsspuren auf und ist sehr stumpf.Eigentlich gutes Produkt.

The Petzl is elegant and perfect. I don't think I'll even use it but instead will keep it as a trophy tool to grip and manipulate while I browse my books on The Eiger, K2, and Annapurna. Over 10 years ago, I took a 5-pound pick-mattock and fastened a 3-foot steel stake to the shaft with 9 hose clamps, giving a good 7 inches of extra grip past the bottom of the standard shaft or handle. This is the kind of weight and length that I would want on a tool in the mountains. You can chop big steps, grapple-hook the slope, break hard ice-rock-snow-dirt, jam the head into rocks to pull yourself upward or forward, use the tool as a lever or an anchor (or as an anvil to break brittle wood over the head), and plant the stake to lean and rest on the head or to make a tripod with your legs for quick balance. (You can plant the bottom spike as well to use the axe head as a "pommel-horse" by pressing on the head with your hands while jumping your feet from higher to lower ground.) The axe is also big enough to flip upside-down, put your butt on the flat blade, lift your feet while pulling the shaft toward you, and then toboggan down a slope.This particular Petzl design or model struck me as the closest contemporary piolet that I could find to the vintage ice axes carried from 1900 to 1980 by Reinhold Messner and Fritz Wiessner, Maurice Herzog and Peter Schoening, Louis Reichardt and Anderl Heckmair (and which can still be bought as collectors' items for $400.00 to $700.00), but with highly appealing enhancements such as a sleek, stainless-steel head, an orange shaft of aircraft aluminum, a black rubber grip, strategic holes in the head and the bottom spike, a generous bend engineered into the shaft, top-and-bottom teeth near the tip of the pick, and a wave-curve forged into the adze blade.I would like to see this same design with at least a 3-pound head, a length of 1 meter, and a lengthened arrowhead bottom spike.
