Pins good on its own. I bought it to use on my m1 helmet for vietnam war reenactments, but the simple rubber nub to keep it in place moves the pin around and it turn upside down. And it sticks out in an odd sort of way. Not an issue of the product, but if the pictures displayed the pinning method, I wouldn't be disappointed with it.

Small, but very noticeable. The pin is well-crafted, and very polished. It's a nice touch on my denim jacket, very subtle, but I've noticed that people respond favorably when it inevitably catches their eye. I think it's just right.
