I bought these when I purchased a set of Nuobell dumbbells so that I could have a more gradual increase weight wise. These are excellent and work really well, extremely happy with purchase.

I already had the 2.5 pound version of these so I knew what to expect. I thought these would be much smaller but they aren't. The size is about the same in diameter but they are not as thick if that makes sense. The magnets are just as strong and the cover seems just as durable. I love these because you can really place them on any painted cast iron surface. I essentially use them on kettle bells either on the flat bottom part or on one of the flat sides. It is not recommended for kettle bells but it works great. They stay in place through a set and don't move an inch. They could become a hazard if someone would swing the weights very violently or bang them together but who does that ? They are expensive for what they are but they are a niche product and if you need them the alternatives are not easy to come by.

I was pleasantly surprised at these. I have 5 and 2.5 plates for my DB/BB sets, but wanted something to be able to increment at a total of 2.5 # when I was feeling my way to a higher rep weight, since my min reps for any particular exercise is 15 (over multiple sets!) and the max (to date) is 48. While these little gems are really effective because they (a) do the job of allowing a small increment, (b) are made well and will likely hold up over a long period, and (c) are magnetic, they are rather pricey! If the manufacturer would reduce them to some degree, I'd probably have another pair and would even consider giving to a few other people I know who would use them as I do.
