They aren't quite as precise or sturdy as more expensive versions and the prongs are not as pointed as other versions so they tend to leave more of a mark on items after dipping in glaze. However, they should be ok for workshops and the pricing was a big factor in purchasing these.

I could hardly believe when a student was using these tongs today and we heard a loud crunch sound as the metal tong part broke against a ceramic plate that was being dipped in clear glaze. Totally unacceptable to me as a teacher to have that happen. We have only used these tongs for two weeks! I may have just learned my lesson to not buy from Amazon for ceramic tools. Extremely disappointing.
