Tough to judge boat speakers because so much depends on variables of where and how they are installed, but I found they are harsh sounding...I guess that translates as too much treble and mid range with some distortion thrown in even at low volumes. Price is nice, but speakers aren't. I ended up springing for the 7.7" Pioneers. They sound 4 times better. Definitely go for the Pioneers if you can swing it. Not that much more money, and sooo much smoother!

Before the audiophiles get their panties in a twist, these are not top of the line speakers. But for the price point they put out better than expected sound. I used them for a ice chest radio I built to take on river float trips. These make me the star of the river.
