This extension worked just as designed and intended. Typically, it's a $6 part. I paid extra here because I could not find it at a store and it saved me from digging up the head.

Our shrubs have grown up so much that they now prevent normal pop-up sprinkler from reaching the entire bed. By replacing the sprinkler nozzle with the extension, and screwing the sprinkler nozzle onto the top of the extension, the sprinkler now reaches all the flower bed. Without the extension, I would have had to dig up the sprinkler body and replace it with a longer one. Since this sprinkler is surrounded by shrubs, it doesn't matter that the extension doesn't retract below ground level.

I needed to get a sprinkler head raised up several inches to clear a hump. This fit the bill perfectly. Easy install.

A little pricey, however these are the perfect extension and fit for plants that are too tall for the installed Rainbird sprinkler riser. If more that 6” are needed, just buy additional units. Easily screws on to each other and onto the original riser. Of course not to be used in areas that will be mowed.
