These have to be hooked up to levels you choose - little plastic circles hook at different levels depending on how high- is not an ideal match for my needs & arm strength & length. I wish pull string style was still available.
Great Buy

Having lived in Japan and loving rice paper decor, these are authentic, very pretty, and delicate.

It's a nice looking shade in terms of esthetics, and it was exactly what I needed (glass bedroom door that needed a privacy screen). However, the entire shade was off and hung at an angle (and not my doing). If you look at the image left to right, you can see the point of insertion to the wood top is uneven/at an angle. It also had inconsistent shading in parts where it looks like some other pieced was just stuck in. And even were it to be "perfect", it is just bad value for the price. I paid around $40 for other bamboo shades with a privacy backing that are bigger (and I've had them for years now). Flimsy piece of garbage. I'd have sent it back but no one else sells this. I cut the crooked top piece off, cut off the rings that are how it is "cordless", and left the ones on the bottom which I hung the shade from. Save your money!

This shade will serve the purpose I bought it for so I won't return it but there are issues which concern me in both quality and function. Absurdly easy to hang is the biggest plus. But they are very delicate and found several thin quarter-inch long holes in the shade that I hope will not grow larger. The method for folding the shade up to allow direct light through is a bit of a mystery each person must solve as the shade came with no clips to join the little rings that serve as folding points on the front of the shade. I'm using white twist ties to join the little plastic rings which serve as folding points. Maybe someone from Red Lantern can comment on this as well as the holes in the rice paper. Also the color of the shade is not consistent with varying horizontal bands comprising the shade. That said these are no where near as study or well built as the ones I purchased years ago. The same shade was nearly 20% more expensive on Wayfair. The photo shows imperfections in rice paper.
