I think 6 plates for 13 pounds is ok. I don't know how they compare to Lego in regards to sturdiness. These are ok, lots of space to build with and ok in terms of quality.

This set of base plates add to the building possibilities and imaginative play of Lego, without the costing as much as the more expensive, branded, ones. We have found the different colours are great for matching varying sets – two each of grey, blue and green. A green one was great for the Harry Potter Quidditch parts that we have. The grey offered a contrast for the Arctic Explorers.Yes these base plates are compatible with the branded sets. However we did find that some, (but not all), bases in original sets weren’t easy fits on top of these – not clear why. Especially as any individual bricks, objects, characters or animals fitted perfectly. So if 'building directly' onto these base boards there doesn't seem to be a problem.With this amount and variations of base plates some could be used to help organisation of ‘Lego areas’ and still leave some spare. Where there are group activities e.g. after school club, play rooms etc these could be stuck / glued onto a surface with brick pieces stored underneath.Having 6 in the pack these work well where you have more than one child (or adult) using sets of Lego at the same time. Equally different ones could help to display a number of treasured creations at the same time. These seem to be reasonable quality and a useful, relatively inexpensive addition to any Lego collection.

These are very good indeed, the official Lego baseplates are very highly priced these days for what they are so it's nice to find a cheaper alternative.The quality of the plastic used here is very good, nice and rigid, no sharp edges with rounded corners etc. Of course the most important part is does Lego fit properly? Well yes it does, so really nothing to dislike about these plates.You are receiving a pack of 6 here, 2x Green, 2x Blue, and 2x Grey which I especially like as the tone is more like the vintage lego baseplates so perfect as a base for something like the adult Lego Explorer that released a couple of years ago.£12.59(at time of review) for 6 plates, making them around £2.60 per baseplate seems reasonable enough to me, so worth the 5 stars I think.

These base plates are great, the are compatible for Lego and are much cheaper than the original onesThe 10 x 10 inch means you can build a good size contractions and but using some Lego pieces to connect all 6 you can build a small village!!My son likes to use then to line up all the Lego figures he has collected in a military line up style!The colours and build are great
