If you are new to using pepper spray this is an economical way to be able to practice and learn just how to use the real pepper spray (such as how far the pepper spray will travel, how to correctly direct the pepper spray. You are then better prepared should you ever have to use the real pepper spray.

Bought two of these to give my wife and two daughters some practice in deploying. I'm very glad I did, even I made a mistake and got it on my hands the first time. You will not execute well under pressure if you haven't practiced and these are great for practice.Its just clear water, no smell or color, but I drew a face on a box and put it at eye level and had my girls practice pulling it from their purse or pocket and spray the eyes. There was just enough in these to let them practice a half dozen shots at ~2 secs. each.Personal protection is not a magic talisman; you have to be proficient in deploying it and these are just the thing for building proficiency. Price almost costed them a star.

I teach martial arts and streetwise self-defense - My first rule is, never carry a weapon you have never trained with!This lets you train with pepper spray!In a training session with my college-age students, I attacked them in various ways at full speed using real street tactics. It was great for them to realize how they had to have the spray ready to use, the needed to control the distance to the attacker, and techniques to avoid having their arm trapped or the spray taken. The spray does not replace self-defense training but shows what techniques allow them time and space to use a disabling weapon. It also showed them the importance of changing their location after spraying an attacker. Even a blinded attacker can hurt you if you stand right in front of them.

Bought my daughter mace since she's started driving and wanted to make sure she knew how to operate and where to spray. I'm retired police and was certified to use pepper spray so I was able to teach her and let her practice on me w water and not the real thing. to my amazement she's been able to hit me right in the eyes even surprised and rushing her. In my opinion this is the best way to train someone w mace. After all if you buy a gun you don't just load it and carry it, you must practice. My only complaint would be it needs to be able to be refilled since it is only water.

Good for practice, and you definitely want to know how to actually use a self defense tool before you really need it.
