Adapter ist ganue das was ich brauche, Kombination aus Alter Rechner und neue Komponenten zusammen für super Windows 98 Retro PC.

Tested using SDHC and also SDXC (read 90+GB from a 128GB card testing on a modern PC using an IDE-to-USB adapter). There's no way to select master/slave/cable select, and it seems to always assume it's the master - I couldn't get it to work as the slave with another device as master. It works as master with another device as slave on the same IDE cable, though, which makes more sense anyway. I couldn't find a sensible way to mount it in the PC case, and was a little concerned about short-circuit possibilities (there's exposed soldering on the back of the board, especially for the MOLEX power connector), but resorted to dangling it off the IDE cable anyway - I think the screw holes are probably set up for an extension slot bracket so the SD card would be accessible from the back of the PC case, but there was no bracket supplied.

I have to maintain a legacy test system and I periodically have a trial by fire as a windows 95 era hard disk finally fails. This unit is a great solution. I took a disk image of the old operating system using a windows 10 machine, and Macrium via a USB IDE caddy. I then replaced the HD in the caddy with the module and a 35G SDHC card, which can do up to 120M/s.The size is important as some old PC BIOS do not support disks over 137G. The image went down no problem at all.Then I plugged it into the Win95 machine, no BIOS changes. The machine booted up very happily.This solution offers R/W storage, it side steps the issue of finding SATA150 hard disks to connect via the SATA adapters you can get, and it allows for easy modern solid state interfacing. It does away with the power load on the old PC, reduces vibration, gets rid of the risk of damage by bumping.I have deducted a star, because it comes without a box. the board shape makes it a pain to find a safe space for in a system unit. If they had put it in a 3.5" disk box I would have been a very happy camper. I am currently working on a 3D print to stick it in, I will update my review with the link when I have done it.

Really for putting an operating system on an SD card as a workstation setup. I pulled out the DVD cable and put it in this board. It worked that way still booting up from the HD.Was experimenting with an old PC. Obviously not a substitute for an SD card reader.

Mi si è rotto l'hard disk del 2001 con la prima installazione di Windows ME. Fortunatamente, un precedente backup mi ha salvato i dati.Guardando un po' di video, ho considerato l'idea di rimpiazzarlo con una memoria solida, ovvero una CF o una SD.Mai scelta fu più azzeccata. Ho fatto il recovery della partizione su una sd da 32GB e il sistema operativo si avvia più velocemente.Tramite questo adattatore, dotato sia di alimentazione con il molex da floppy, sia di ide, la scheda madre e il sistemo operativo vede la memoria sd come se fosse un hard disk normale.Da bios, non serve alcuna impostazione o modifica. Viene realmente visto come un disco fisso con la marca dell'adattatore.Voto: ottimo

Ho acquistato questo prodotto per interfacciare un Commodore Amiga 1200 ad una moderna Sd da 16gb ed ha funzionato tutto al primo colpo, lo consiglio ad appassionati di retrocomputing
