The design seems good but I cannot use it because the package was damaged, with a gaping hole in one side and one of the collar pins was missing. Not sure why the small hardware was not packed separately. Will go to Home Depot to see if I can jury rig a new collar since returning and getting a new one is not worth it.

Very versatile bar, but it is a bit annoying at times. The bar itself is pretty basic, just a flat bar, but the adjustable handles provide opportunities to add a lot of variety to your exercises. That said, it is a tad annoying having to unscrew the handles every time you want to move them. I would recommend replacing the screws with a carabiner or some sort of fast-change mechanism. Just be careful if you do, and make sure you set it up in a way that is still secure so the handles dont detach mid-rep. The price is a tad higher than your standard bar, but the versatility is enough to justify the price for me. You will generally pay more for a set of multiple bars, which would provide the same range of versatility, but the selling point here is that you dont need multiple bars, so it minimizes clutter in your gym space. Overall, I would definitely recommend this item. I actually talked myself into increasing the rating as I wrote this review

This bar is very useful and can be used for almost any pulling movement. It can be used for lat pulldowns, bent rows, shrugs, high pulls etc. There is almost an endless selection of grip widths, from real close to fairly wide and everything in between. The bar is solid steel, the width adjustment portion is flat plate steel that is welded on, it is finished in powder coating. The attachment to the cable is welded to the bar and comes with a small for attachment point as well. The handles are attached to the bar by a small knob that you screw a small nut into a threaded end. The entire set up is VERY strong. I am less enthused with the actual grip on the handles. They are slightly tapered making them larger in the center than on the ends. That is kind of an odd feel for me. I'd prefer they were the same thickness end to end. However, they have excellent give and 'padding', being a somewhat pliable rubber. They are very grippy. The handles themselves are large D handles, made from steel and are also power coated. The grip spins free and has a very nice feel as far as movement goes. They rotate into any hand position you like smoothly.I use the bar for lat pull downs and seated rows on a cable machine. Bent rows off a cable machine. I also have a large caribiner that I use to do bent rows with a landmine bar and shrugs off that bar. I sometimes take the handles off the bar and use them for curls and triceps work. This is a very nice, high quality, useful bar that offers a lot of variation. 5 stars, recommended.
