I bought this to go between a 1200 diamond stone and a 5000 polishing stone.At first I was unsure if it could be used to sharpen or polish, but a little experimentation and you can use it like you would a sharpening stone but don't expect to get a burr without a lot of work.However, go through the action of sharpening a knife on this stone followed by the same burr reduction you would do on a 1000 grit and you will take a slightly dull knife back to a keen edge without the need to strop.I have this as my only stone in the kitchen and when I noticed a knife that is not cutting so well I can use this stone and have a keen edge back within 2 minutes.This is not a stone to do initial sharpening or to remove small chips, use a 1000 grit for that, it is a stone for quick touch ups between sharpening.

That’s really it. The grade of abrasive is spectacular. The durability is awesome. I like the thicker dimension relative to glass stones (love them, too!), but … it’s fast!

研磨力凄い。難研磨で有名な高硬度鋼材でも余裕で削り落とす力あります。zdp189でも余裕でイケるのは驚いた。ダイヤモンド砥石要らないですね。傷がひどいから。消すのが大変。このシリーズで研ぎあげるのが正解。
