Ich habe mir vorsichtshalber stabilere Nachmontiert, da diese nicht vertrauenserweckend sind.Die Schlösser sind Einwegprodukte! Einmal geschlossen sollten diese halten.Beim wiederöffnen des Schlossen - wofür dies nicht beworben wird - ist mir das erste Schloßgebrochen. Die Materialstärke und die Bruchleiste haben mich nicht überzeugt bei dem Gedankendieses Glied an einem Berg mit Gepäck voll zu belasten. Daher habe ich mir stabilere bestellt welchezwei halbe Glieder und auf Zug einrasten.Auch das zweite Schloss brach nach dem öffnen.Würde ich mir es wieder kaufen: NEIN

Die Montage erfordert Kraft und ist mir beim ersten Versuch nicht gelungen. Internetvideos zeigen jedoch Tipps, wie man dieses Kunststück bewerkstelligen kann, indem man die Kette rechts und links zu sich biegt.

Der Versand war sehr schnell, die Montage war mithilfe von Videoanleitungen aus dem Internet recht einfach. Die neue Kette hakt manchmal etwas, ich weiß aber nicht ob das durch das Kettenschloß verursacht wird. Deshalb volle Punktzahl.

I've read a few reviews about this product and how difficult it is to install it. It's really easy. This is how you you do it. First, put the bike upside down, and then put the 2-pin section in from the back. The front 'figure of eight' bit goes in then. There is a small hole there, you have to engage that on the left pin, then turn it around so the hole is now on the right pin. Then with your hands squeeze the chain towards you and the right pin will go into the hole and that's it!

Overall the link does it's job. It is easy to lock. Pretty hard to unlock. But again that is just done once in a while.However one should know in advance that pin width of this Shimano SM-UG51 Quick-Link is 7.5mm. That should be fine for 7.8mm and 7.3mm 6-8 speed chains, however some Shimano 6-8 speed chains have pin width 7.1mm and these 0.4mm difference might matter. I've found that the quick link touches the front derailleur on some shifter positions and produces slight noise each time they meet. Could not get rid of the noise completely by tuning the shifter, so will try KMC link with 7.1 width.Update after about a year of usage:Taking the pin out and putting it back was always a reason for me to wait with the cleaning until the chain is annoyingly dirty. Man, it is just so much easier with the link so I'm asking myself why haven't I bought it before ?! I use one of these Shimano links and one from KMC on another bike, both do their job perfectly. Highly recommended.
