Outside of the most demanding applications, where flammability or serious wear are a safety concern, lubrication is very straightforward. Most of the time, nothing fancy is needed. That being said, I just love fancy lubes and at 20-30 EUR per bottle it is not the most expensive hobby to have.The SILCA Synergetic is a quite viscous oil that stays in place wonderfully. It will probably not creep around and get to where it is not supposed to, which is a good thing in my book. The addition of WS2 (tungsten disulphide) and ZDDP (zinc dialkyldithiophosphate) are, of course, unnecessary for most applications, but undoubtedly cool. I usually use boron nitride or PTFE containing lubricants (for their white appearance vs the black MoS2 or WS2) but have not found any negative impact so far. WS2 and ZDDP are a pretty sophisticated combination of additives not commonly found in basic consumer applications. Therefore, I hold this oil in high regard as being something quite special.Two small tips:- I added a small ball bearing to the bottle. This adds mechanical energy during shaking and helps get the solid parts mixed in properly and quickly.- Use oil sparingly. This may sound counterintuitive, but less is more. Wipe off excess and use the oil where it is needed. A small needle applicator or cotton dab are good additions to this product, because it only comes with a quite large applicator (which is perfect for bicycle chains, though).

First time trying this oil my other bike has a waxed chain so I will monitor the difference in wear rate.I still think it is ridiculously over priced for the amount you get. No so bad if it's dry sunny weather but with prolonged wet weather your gonna get through that tiny bottle quickly with repeated bike washes.
