The XL version is much bigger than the regular size - the plastic board size increases from 16cm x 16cm to 26cm x 26cm (the actual playing area increases from 10cm x 10cm to 17cm x 17cm).In my opinion this makes the game much better to play.Also the version from Smart Games shown here has white squares on one face of some of the shapes (see the photo) which can be used to make harder levels of game play - I’m aware I failed to get the purple shape away from the orange shape!)
