Ich habe diese Machete seit gut 4 Wochen täglich im gebrauch. Für diese Preis das beste was ich bisher hatte.

+Liegt gut in der Hand (5Std am Stück damit gearbeitet)+gute Klingenform die gut schneidet-Klinge zu weich und bekommt schnell Scharten

Super Verarbeitet, nicht zu biegbar und stabil. Das Gewicht liegt auch im vorderen Teil der Klinge was das Hacken von Busch und Ästen sehr erleichtert. Die Klinge könnte nur ein bisschen schärfer geliefert sein, aber man kann es ja selbst nach scharfen. Alles in allem Super Produkt.

After trying several others, I've finally settled on this one. Seems like it's built to last, especially since the grip is injection molded right over the one piece blade. I can't see it ever coming loose and when you consider how machetes are used, durability is paramount. Now here is the trade off: Stainless vs carbon steel. I've had others made of high carbon steel which is going to hold an edge better than this stainless steel blade but frankly, I'm tired of pulling a rusted mess out of my sheath every time I want to use it. Vegetation tends to be damp where I am and that will inevitably rust up any high carbon steel blade. And that power coated finish they claim will act as corrosion protection is only going to last you through your first few cuts so this made my decision pretty easy. Yes, I may have to sharpen it a little more frequently but I'll gladly take that for the other benefits of stainless steel.Pros:1. This thing is tough. I don't think you could break it under any normal application.2. One piece handle is comfortable enough and has a non slip texture.3. Stainless steel blade won't rust and is less brittle than high carbon steel4. Saw tooth back has offset teeth for faster and easier cutting.Cons:1. Kind of nit picking here but the sheath is made of nylon, not leather. Not surprising at this price point and I'm not even sure that leather would be better but it's the one main area that just seemed OK and not great. I'd love it if they offered a deluxe sheath for an added cost.

I wanted a machete suitable for clearing overgrown trails when hiking and for general use when camping. This one is just what I hoped it would be and has been excellent. The price was comparable to a similar one from Gerber but the SOG looks way cooler.It arrived in a study plastic blister pack. The knife and handle appear well constructed. The blade came very sharp. The sheath seems like an after thought. The sheath and knife fit nicely in my daypack.On the trail, the machete worked as expected. It cut through overgrown brush with ease. With a whack or two, it cut through tree branches 1 - 2 inches. The rubberized handle is very comfortable and easy to hang on to despite heavy forces. The saw is serviceable in a pinch but stay focused on keeping your hand on the handle. If (due to sweat or rain) your hand slips off the handle when pushing to saw, you could have a major injury.The generous 18" size and sharp tip will also help you feel like you have some good personal protection.SOG makes very cool knifes and this machete ([...]) is no exception.You join the "cool kids" at camp when you come with this one. Buy it!
