Das Gaiwan ist ein traditionelles chinesisches Teeservice mit einem Deckel oben, einem Tablett auf der Unterseite und einer Schüssel in der Mitte. Auch bekannt als "Sancai-Schale", "Sancai-Cup". Die Teeabdeckung repräsentiert den Himmel, die Untertasse repräsentiert die Erde und die Teeschale stellt den Menschen dar, was bedeutet, dass der Himmel, die Erde und die Erde in Harmonie sind.

Doesn't get too hot, easy to hold, holds a reasonable amount of strong tea for one person, easy to clean. The ideal gadget for chinese and taiwanese teas like pu erh and roasted oolongs. Suitable for fancy gongfu brewing but also works great for drinking straight from it and refilling with hot water until the leaves are tasteless.Only one minor flaw (tiny bump) in the porcelain lining, no big deal.

I really love this Gaiwan, and am very happy with the choice.First, of course, the price makes it a very attractive offer.The cover fits the cup perfectly. The cup is well-made, I'm not sure about hand-made, but it is very nicely made and the finish looks good.The interior glazing is without blemishes, and prevents the clay from absorbing any aromas of the tea. This is either a plus or a minus, depends on your expectations - a traditional clay Gaiwan is expected to absorb flavours, which is supposed to enrich the experience; I prefer using the samecup for many different types of tea, and therefore leave it as neutral as possible.Note that the outside of the cup is unglazed - I can see how the rough texture could bother people, although I find it insignificant and barely noticed. I also find that the rough texture makes it easier to grab the cup, which I appreciate as it is much ,ore fragile than I anticipated, and I believe a smooth surface would make it dangerously slippery, especially when washing.

Leider ist die Glasur dieses Gaiwans sehr ungleichmäßig, und hat im Inneren sogar kleinere "Löcher". Ich werde ihn zurückschicken.

Schöne kleine Teetasse !Leider sind einige Erwartungen nicht so wie ich es erhofft hatte.Die Tasse ist Handarbeit was man am Griff oben sieht , nicht sauber gearbeitet !Leider ist der Deckel auch nicht 100% passgenau , trotzdem wird der Tee nicht sofort kalt.Innen ist eine super beschichtung gearbeitet , ohne Risse oder Tropfen.Außen ist die Tasse rauh.Bestellt hatte ich weil in der Anzeige stand schwarz ...irgendwo weiter unten stand braun und noch irgendwo rot ....sie ist in einem sehr dunklem braun !!!!Trotzdem ist die Tasse für meine Zwecke für den Preis echt in Ordnung.Aber Achtung das ist keine kaffee Tasse bzw Tasse im unser gewohnten Größe, sie fast ca 100 ml,mehr geht auch, dann steht der Deckel aber im Tee.

Article est marque 120ml, or j'ai mesure qu'il ne contient que 100ml a ras le bol. Pour une utilisation normal avec feuilles du the, chaque infusion ne peut avoir que 70ml a 75ml. Pas conforme a la description.

Die weiße Glasur innen ist, trotzt des dunklen Braun außen, sehr weiß - fast schon schneeweiß. Die Glasur ist ohne Risse und absolut glatt ohne Sprenkel oder Unebenheiten.Der braune Bereich ist leicht angeraut, von der Haptik her ähnlich Ton.Die Tassen sind genauso, wie ich sie mir vorgestellt habe! Sie sind halt klein, also deutlich kleiner, als „normale“ Teetassen. Ich finde es schade, dass es die Tassen nicht auch etwas größer gibt.Ich würde sie wieder kaufen.

Overall, I'm happy with the purchase. The clay and inner glazing are nice and pour doesn't spill.I've read other reviews saying that the brew volume has been coming out smaller than expected, but I went along with the purchase anyway. This turned out to be true in my case as well; to illustrate, a full brew in the gaiwan only fills up ~1/2 of my 150ml cup. That's not a problem as I've been doing two quick brews at once.Only real problem is the fast temperature drop. An initial 90C can drop to 75C within ~1.5 mins for a preheated gaiwan (I know it depends on outside temperature and other outside factors), but this has been problematic for brewing Oolongs. Not a problem for green teas through.

The lid fits perfectly and you can wedge it between the saucer and the cup without the whole thing falling over. Great product!
