It's a small pocket sized hard cover of The Prince. It makes for a very portable volume. The pages are a decent thickness and of acceptable quality. The printing is sharp and the text is a comfortable size, a bit larger than the text in a trade paperback, but not large print. There is a small ribbon bookmark sewn into the binding, a very handy feature and I wished this was in all my books.The contents are what you expect. It's Machiavelli's The Prince. There is a lengthy but excellent introduction from the translator that provides sufficient historical background to place Machiavelli in the proper context. It makes for a very approachable book.

You get a modern translation that reads very fluent. There is even a whole chapter by the translator comparing 3 other translations and explaining why he chose a certain style that is modern and to the point, much like the one Machiavelli chose for his audience.Print and cover a very beautifully done.PS: A great companion to this book is The Machiavellians by James Burnham.

Ich liebe diese absolut tolle, wunderschöne Ausgabe des Klassikers "The Prince". Sie liegt gut in der Hand und das hochwertige Design ist der Hammer. Der Inhalt ist sicherlich vielen bereits bekannt, ich fand das Buch einfach super.

The Prince is a classic text so I'm not going to talk about its contents - there's honestly no point when academic and informal resources and discussions on the text are easily accessible.In terms of the print copy though, it's a very nice, compact hard-cover book - the print quality is excellent, the paper is sturdy, and the ribbon marker is a nice yellow that complements the cover styling well. For a book that's only slightly longer than one of my pencils and fits in my coat pocket, the font is a pretty decent size and the typesetting is well done - the pages have a reasonable margin that keeps the pages filled, yet not over-filled, so it doesn't feel overwhelming to read like many other compact books I've seen over the years.I for one really like this edition. If you're looking for a quality hardcover edition that's travel-sized, this is a great choice.

Very poor translation. Go with the Harvey Mansfield translation if you can get it or just get the old translation.

It is the culmination of Machiavelli's life experience, and a stark reminder of what 16th century life and beliefs entailed.This is one of those books I sometimes go back to and end up re-reading a chapter, therefore this book gets a strong recommendation from me.Regarding the book: The finish is good enough for the price, mine was in perfect condition.

The cover feels amazing and the translation is great. What else to expect from this version of the classic "The Prince"? A must read for anyone who is concerned with states affairs or business practices since many of the concepts can be applied on todays conditions.I strongly recommend this book.
