Das Comic habe ich mir von einem Teil der letzten Rate der Inflationsausgleichsprämie meiner Firma neben mehreren anderen aus dem GoT-Kosmos gegönnt. Zustand hervorragend, diesbezüglich habe ich sowieso bei Beistellungen über den market place nie Probleme gehabt. Die Zustellung aus den Ausland (Schweden) hingegen dauerte ellenlang, noch für das alte Jahr, dann den 2.1., schließlich spätestens zum 6.1. angekündigt, kam das Buch schließlich am 14.1.. Ende gut, alles gut.

Big fan of the ASoIaF world. I have read all of the Hedge Knight novellas so far, and it fun to see the artist interpretation of The Sworn Sword. Fun read - I highly recommend.

Le livre est d'une grande qualité, le format est adéquat. Je ne peux pas juger de son contenu puisque je l'ai acheté pour l'offrir (en même temps que "The Hedge Knight : The Graphic Novel" du même auteur) mais son destinataire, qui a lu la série Game of Thrones en anglais, l'a beaucoup apprécié et vite lu.

I read this on the kindle. I'd never read a graphic novel before. And honestly, I'd kind of gotten bored of waiting for Martin to bring out further books. So I didn't have any expectations when I read this.And I'm glad I bought it and the one before it. The artwork was well done. The stories were enjoyable without being over the top. More importantly, I enjoyed the kindle format for reading a graphic novel. The ability to double tap to read each pane individually brought the artwork/story forward and made it... more. I look forward to more stories of Dunk and Egg.

The story of dunk and egg continues as they left Ashford Meadow after all the chaos. A new story set in a different part of seven kingdom with 2 of our main characters and few new and interesting characters. I must say sometimes the extended stories of any famous series can be a bit boring but GRRM has done a full justice with them. They are filled with interesting references of bigger events, characters and they themselves have very important roles in the main series with all kind of turn and twists. Normally the graphical adaptation are not so apt but this along with the first part "The Hedge Knight" is noway lesser than the actual novella. The artwork is also quite appealing. Now I am eagrly waiting for the graphical version of 3rd part "The Mystery Knight" which is set to be released in July, 2017

The graphic novel adaptation of the second of George R.R. Martin's Dunk & Egg novellas, not only stays true to the originally written story but gives it life with fantastic renderings of all the characters, the locales, and the action. Drawn by artist Mike S. Miller and livened by colorist Mike Crowell, "The Sworn Sword" gives both "Game of Thrones" book and show fans a great look into the history of the Seven Kingdoms as Ser Duncan (Dunk) the Tall and the future King Aegon (Egg) V learn about the greatest threat to the Targaryen throne nearly a century before Robert’s Rebellion—the Blackfyre Rebellion.The story begins almost two years after "The Hedge Knight", Dunk and Egg are in the service to Sir Eustace Osgrey who holds a small tower but reminisces about his family’s ancient glory and his own immediate family’s misfortune. A nearly two year drought has gripped Westeros after the Great Spring Sickness—think the Black Death—resulting in water and people being short, which is when Ser Eustace’s stream disappears. After Dunk and another sworn sword, Ser Bennis, search upstream they discover that Ser Eustace’s neighbor Lady Webber has built a dam to divert the water. Soon things escalate and the two nobles begin to lob threats and promise blood vengeance as Dunk tries to find a way to make peace.Of the work surrounding the graphic novel itself, I can only praise the work of Miller and Crowell who not only brought into visual life Dunk and Egg but so many other historically important characters in very consistent way throughout the entire book. It is hard to find fault with the work of these two men save with pointing out a few continuity errors, which unfortunately happen in every graphic novel. But when it came to the memories of Ser Eustace Osgrey about the Battle of the Redgrass Field that ended the threat of Daemon Blackfyre, the artwork is fantastic and brings the memories of the battle alive and giving justice to some of Martin’s best writing.If you're a fan of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" world and haven't gotten this book yet I, what are you waiting for? I highly recommend this graphic novel adaptation of "The Sworn Sword" as well as the novella itself, you won’t be disappointed.

Der erste Teil hat mir insgesamt auch gut gefallen, aber die Bilder waren noch etwas ungelenk, so würde ich es zumindest sagen (was ja ein gängiges Phänomen bei Comicreihen ist, der/die Zeichner muss/müssen sich erst einmal in die Figuren hineinfinden).In diesem zweiten Teil ist das Artwork deutlich geschmeidiger, was man besonders an "Egg" sieht, bei "Sir Duncan" fällt auf, dass er nicht mehr so dümmlich wirkt wie im ersten Teil, was auch zu seiner Entwicklung passt.Die Story um eine Auseinandersetzung verfeindeter Adliger gewinnt ihren Reiz, wenn nach dem etwas langatmigen Beginn die "rote Witwe" in die Handlung tritt und die Grundhandlung um eine Liebesgeschichte erweitert wird.Es soll noch den dritten Teil irgendwann auch als Comic geben, mal sehen, ob es dazu kommt. Jedenfalls plant Martin, die Sir Duncan-Reihe mit weiteren Geschichten auszudehnen bis zu dem Punkt, wenn Egg König wird. Auch hier mal sehen, ob das wirklich geschieht.

Verarbeitung wie beim ersten Band sehr schön. Der Zeichenstil ist geschmackssache, aber kann man mit leben. Ich bin ein großer Game of Thrones Fan und wollte die Hedge Knight storys zur Überbrückung zum nächsten Season release benutzten. Das erste Buch hat mir recht gut gefallen. Schade nur, dass der zweite Teil sich recht lange ereignislos hinzieht. Auch gab es nicht genügend historische Hintergrundgeschichte um die Welt von Westeros noch besser kennen zu lernen.Wegen der lahmen, nicht sehr aufregenden Geschichte und langer langweiliger Monologe nur 3 Sterne hierfür. Schade.
