It’s really good for 1 person use. Compact size, rice is really puffy.Love this.

I needed a rice cooker for my lengthy road trips. Paired with my 500w inverter this rice cooker is great. I trialed a car plug in 100w unit and took over an hour to make simple rice. This unit pulls 230w at warm or cook settings and takes 15minutes to get the job done. I’m starting to boil at 6minutes. I have done full meals in this set and loving the utility of this set. The price tag is more than I’d want to pay but pulled the trigger anyway for my needs. There are others out there but i like that there aren’t exposed buttons, the suction cup lid holder, the removable heating bowl and steam tray. The unit is heftier than my 100w unit so stays put in the car better. Having a traditional 120v house plug it doesn’t fall out of the socket as the car adapter typically does. Less monitoring while driving because of this. The set doesn’t deplete my battery while the engine is off and doesn’t steam up my car noticeably. Very happy and good to know the bowl itself is available to be replaced at cost if needed. Will see how this holds up. I’ve purchased bamboo utensils to not mar the inside of the bowl. The lid is even easy to clean. Not much rice gum noted while cooking so I’m happy to wipe it down while on a trip. Highly recommended.

It's the second one I bought after almost two years I dropped and broke my last on. It's easy to use . It cooks rice perfectly. In the all American set it and forget it way. Durable , I had to trip carrying it to break it . I launched it into the ceiling and then it hit the floor. So it took a 10 ft drop tosmash the outside casings. It still worked, but I was concerned about wiring the might have been damaged. So I bought a new one. Works just as well as the last one. Great product.

I got this product in the hopes it could serve as a good portable rice cooker to make brown rice energy efficiently on my power station. It is energy efficient, but it's just not good enough for my taste. It makes decent brown rice, but it doesn't make perfect brown rice. Plus it takes over an hour to make brown rice, I read another reviewer or a comment claim it was only like 40 minutes, nope... you're waiting an hour and change, something like 1 hour 5-10 minutes. So you're burning a touch over 200 watts to make a decent, though not great pot of brown rice.So I considered returning it, as it simply did not meet the needs I bought it for. HOWEVER, the big surprise was how good it did a pot of white rice, specifically my family's staple - Jasmine. I also tested Bismati, excellent Bismati as well. But it makes really good jasmine, and it does it very quickly, something like 35 minutes. The trick is to stir it right when it's done, put the lid on for a couple of more minutes, then serve. It is almost as good as my Zojirushi, but cooks in half the time. I ended up keeping it because it was a nice rice cooker to whip up a quick small batch with. So those days when you come home, don't have time to wait for the big rice cooker to finish cooking, going to order some Chinese take out or delivery, don't want to pay their rice mark up... start it in this thing, and rice will be done pretty close to when you're home with the take out or when it's delivered.Now a big draw back to it, in addition to nothing-special brown rice, is it doesn't cook half a cup. This is a limitation for a device that promises "no more left overs". 1 cup of white rice is too much for one person in one sitting for people who are following dietary guidelines or counting calories. This is really a missed opportunity, they should give it that functionality, it would make this device a lot more useful for things like that. Combined with a mediocre keep warm function, that is really only good for a few hours, and after that the rice gets hard on the bottom... a half cup function would be so perfect for this.Other things I like about it... it has a new fangled, non teflon non-stick pot. I really like it better. I wish more rice cookers would come with finishes like this, it's very nice. it cleans up super easy. All of the parts and components fit in the rice cooker for storage when it's clean, so you get a very nice, small foot storage foot print under the counter.Even though this fell short for me in the brown rice department, and doesn't do a half cup at a time, I still kept it because it is a super fast, easy to use and clean option for a family to have available, and it will definitely do the job on family camping trips. I still had to go out and get a more expensive rice cooker to do better brown rice, but if you haven't been spoiled by how well a high end rice cooker does brown rice, you will probably not notice with this as it is still better than the brown rice I've gotten out of those glass top, one button rice cookers. And again, the white rice it cooks, is very good quality, just don't leave it on keep warm for more than 2 or 3 hours.I would give it 4.5 stars if I could, but I'm giving it 4 because I really think the inability to cook half a cup is a serious drawback to a device in this class. The manufacturer should really add that functionality.

I purchased this rice/steam cooker for our camping trips. It cooks up just enough rice, oatmeal, poached eggs and the like for two people. The steam tray is a great additive to add veggies to a meal. I like the porcelain pot and the coating in the inside of the cooker. It is easy to pack to take along.
