The canvas sides of the bag are of sufficient thickness to hold heavy items. However, I could see light through the weave of the bottom piece (mine was blue) - too thin to hold up over the long haul of carrying heavy grocery items.*I returned the tote bag for this reason*.The bag is adequate to carry a load full of light weight items. The photo looks down to the bottom of the tote bag.

i love this bag!!!! it’s huge and the straps are long so that i’m no constantly fighting with keeping them on my shoulder. i store all of my needlepoint supplies in this bag and it’s perfect. the quality is decent, i’ve washed it in the washing machine so it’s very durable. i can fold it if i need to store it. it’s amazing especially for the price.
