📡 This mast mounting clamp is intended for a variety of applications, such as securing antenna poles. Some of the use cases in the product information are, I think, a bit fanciful, such as fishing rods. It should be noted that the brackets are not very heavy duty, but if pairs of brackets are used, you do get a stability improvement.📡 The clamps are constructed from zinc-plated steel for some durability, but only time will tell if they are up to sustained exposure to the elements, particularly if they mount to dissimilar metals or in salt-laden environments. My application will be by the sea, and so I am particularly interested in monitoring their performance over time.📡 The kit offers a variety of assembly setup options, but generally these are going to be used for securing two circular cross-section poles together. You get six lengths of threaded rod in the kit, so enough to double up and create three mounts.📡 These brackets are not heavy-duty. I think that for applications where the pole length is extended, these might not be for you. They will be adequate, in my view, for mounting an antenna of a few feet in length for metal, where it has insufficient total cross section to be an overwhelming load on the brackets, and perhaps longer for other, thinner materials. Note that the two spanners that are supplied in the kit are only ok when there is nothing else available, and I would recommend that you use some proper spanners to adjust the mounting.📡 I think overall that the kit is probably a little overpriced, as I have seen the same kit for cheaper than this. I think that to be competitive, the metal gauge needs to be thicker, with the thread going to a larger diameter. ⚖️

I do like the versatility of these clamps. You can connect a round scaffold pole to a box section mast, box to box, pole to pole and any combination - by reversing the V jaws.There are 3 sets of clamps (doubles) included but I do live in a relatively high wind area (up to 50mph) and even though they are described as heavy duty I am a little worried that the threaded bar might get stripped under a heavy gust. I have to admit that on tightening I was a little worried about overtightening for this exact reason. The old adage "tight is tight but too tight is bust" comes to mind and also have concerns that the threaded bar may also bend. For this reason, I am clamping an 8' section of 1.25" mast to a scaffold pole but only 5.5' is protruding. For security, I am using all 3 clamps and I have placed double nuts on the ends together with loctite.The two included wrenches are adequate for securing the nuts but only under medium torque. Maybe this is why I am being careful to NOT overtighten.So, with a question mark over the longevity under strong wind, I award this 4 stars. Price is fair but even though they are described as "heavy duty", the threaded rods are only about M4. I would expect to see M6 or more to truly be classed as heavy duty.

These brackets are NOT heavy duty. Versatile - yes but lacking in strength and not suitable for any usage other than incredibly lightweight tubes and antennas with minimal wind shear.
