Ordered to replace brake bulb holder on Mini One R56 2013 that had clearly shorted, disintegrating one of the contacts. Compared new with old and confirmed identical. Initially tried to fit from inside boot where access is limited and line of sight is impossible, but bulb still did not work. Only after removing rear cluster completely could I see that the plastic had overheated and slightly distorted due to the short. So after trimming the backplate the fit was fine. IMPORTANT - the holder will only go one way round. It may appear it could be rotated 180 degrees and still fit, but the plastic pin on the holder alongside the metal contact has to be towards the top.So I suspect where reviewers have said the holder looked identical but did not fit/work it could be one of the two reasons above. Really pleased with purchase, and a fraction of the BMW/Mini price.

Unfortunately the bulb holder does not fit a 2011 Mini One R56. It looks identical to the original but it just won't fit. I had hoped to replace the one I had as the contact points are broken.. Disapointing and frustrating. I may try to use it to replace the contact points.
