No tools are needed to assemble this acrylic katana stand. The pieces fit together like a jigsaw puzzle if you just apply a bit of force. I found the protective sheets difficult to remove and I ended up using the tip of a screwdriver to scrape it but fortunately, there were no scratches. If you could care less about the details, and you are just looking for a simple and effective display for your katana then this stand will do. On the other hand, if you are keen on keeping your katana in tip-top condition, you might want to reconsider this one. I have a cheaper katana so it is okay that there is no cushioning where the blade sits but I wouldn't recommend this stand if you have an expensive katana. The way the blade sits bare on the stand will dull it over time.

Honestly this stand is a joke. Katana keeps falling over. Waste of money.

This is regarding the WANLIAN Katana Stand Samurai Knife Holder Acrylic Horizontal Display Sword Stand for Display Katana Samurai Sword(Transparent).It's a thick and very strong stand. More so then it actually needs, but it does add to the look with this.Of course it all slips together very easily. And is just as easy to pack away st any time.The wide stance of the display adds to the stability as a whole.The top of the display is made to show the blade off out of the scabbard, which works well, but I would reconsider I'd your sword is properly sharpened as its an obvious safety issue.This is a good purchase at this price point.
