The back is a velvety style material, which I think helps with the grip to keep it in place. The top is a warm and fluffy fleece material. I think it has more weight to it that regular blankets, I expect that's the waterproof part, but it feels very resilient.It is well-made with no loose stitching. I inspected it for any defects and there are none.I'm yet to test the waterproof part as the large dog hasn't been swimming recently. The surface doesn't feel any different to a human blanket, so if you weren't told it was waterproof, you'd never know just by looking.He couldn't wait to get on his new chair blanket and had jumped on before I'd finished putting it on properly. The blanket stayed on the chair. I was quite tempted to keep it for myself! Overall, excellent.

This dog blanket is a really good size, allowing for the dog to crumple it up/dig a bed and still cover the furniture as intended. It claims to have an inner water resistant layer between the fluffy fleece and velvet sides, but I haven't picked apart a seam to verify this.It's very soft and flexible, with both sides feeling pleasant to the touch.Though not tested with a full spill, it does resist moisture from wet paws/fur.It washes well on at low temperature and dries quickly.I wish it came in a colour other than grey, but I won't let that affect my rating, as I knew the colour at the time of ordering.Not terribly cheap at £29.99 for the largest size, but it is large and offers good protection for the furniture/car without having a crunchy "anorak" feel to the fabric.

I don't have a dog. I use this blanket to cover my knees as a passenger in a kit car that has no doors or hood. It's a very cosy blanket that I would recommend.

This is not the cheapest of blankets at £34.99, but it's worth every penny to protect my sofa when my mucky dog jumps on it - it's fantastic for after his bath too, as he likes to jump straight onto the sofa but doesn't dry off properly for ages! The waterproof middle works really well, and I like that it has two fleece options, one sherpa fleece and the other flannel fleece - my cat loves the thicker side, but the smoother side is better for the dog to lie on as it captures less of his hair. Very well made, so soft and cosy I almost didn't want to let the pets have it, and a perfect size for covering the sofa or bed.
