We have 2 x 5 litre mini Jerry Cans for water and a 10 litre camping watertank/dispenser with a tap. We've always had reservations about using these after being stored in garage for most of the year, at least with these little white pills we can use them to both clean them easily before use AND store water for days in them at camp. I love that I don't have to worry about dosage, it's one pill per 5 litres (so one in each Jerry Can and 2 in the 10 litre tank)

If you've ever looked at a murky stream while camping and thought, "Well, that looks drinkable," stop right there—because unless you have the stomach of a medieval knight, you're going to need Biocool Water Purification Tablets. These little lifesavers turn questionable water sources into refreshingly safe hydration, so you can focus on enjoying the great outdoors without the unfortunate side effects of drinking nature's mystery cocktail. Each tablet works like a tiny, invisible superhero, neutralizing bacteria and other unwanted extras lurking in your water. And with 250 tablets treating up to 1,250 liters, you’re basically carrying a portable water treatment plant in your backpack. Whether you’re trekking through the wilderness, prepping for emergencies, or just want to avoid the dicey water tank in your caravan, these tablets have your back (and your stomach). The best part? No overpowering chemical taste that makes you question if hydration is even worth it. The treated water tastes fresh, without that chlorine-heavy aftershock that some purifiers leave behind. It’s hydration, minus the regret.Bottom line? Biocool Water Purification Tablets are a must-have for adventurers, preppers, and anyone who refuses to let bacteria ruin a good day. Because when it comes to drinking water, survival should never be a gamble.

I don't have the scientific equipment to test these purification tablets properly. They contain Sodium Percarbonate, which (I believe) is a known sterilising agent for water. When mixed with water, it forms Sodium Bicarbonate (NaCO3) & Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2).The hydrogen peroxide is the active ingredient which kills bacteria. The H2O2 breaks down into water (H2O) and Oxygen (O2) - you can see bubbles coming from the tablets. So, in essence, the tablets break down to form a weak peroxide solution, which is an oxidiser and bleaching agent. It is apparently safe to ingest... Other websites seem to confirm this.I tasted it, and although it was difficult to say exactly what the flavour was, it was maybe musty or chalky. It's only a mild flavour, and is still palatable. It isn't 'horrible'.I would rather drink pure water, but if it was a trade off with being safe, then I'll take safe.It is apparently active against bacteria, algae and parasites.I don't know if any species of the above organisms are resistant. It can keep water safe to drink, in a tank, for up to 3 months.I got this 'just in case' for a future camping trip.UPDATE –Some other reviewers have expressed worry about the white residue which you see in the container. This is (almost certainly) Sodium Bicarbonate (= Bicarbonate of Soda) – which is one of the breakdown products of the pill.As shown in the photos, I tested the solution with litmus paper. The pH was about 8 - so, slightly alkaline. That is a little confusing, as I thought hydrogen peroxide is supposed to be slightly acidic.I'm not sure what to think of that.Expiry date is Dec 2027 - which is 3 years ahead from the (likely) date of manufacture.

Let’s get straight into this review - One of the Pictures on the advert states at the top (quote): “Biocool ensures clean, safe water wherever you are” and then beneath shows some people on a Sailing Boat out at Sea. Then at the bottom of the same Picture says (quote): “From navigating the seas on your boat, embarking on RV adventures, to unwinding at your summer house, trust in Biocool for clean, safe water wherever life takes you” - This is quite Misleading as people may think you can use these Purification Tablets with Seawater (Saltwater)? I’ve done a bit of research on this and from what I’ve gathered (although I may still be wrong), Saltwater can be sterilized by boiling it, but the salt will remain. Before the water may be consumed by Humans, the salt must also be removed and heating the water won't do this permanently. You must employ reverse osmosis or distillation technology to desalinate seawater safely. There still hasn’t been invented a Tablet that can make Seawater Safe for Humans to drink, no matter what this Advert claims! Like other reviewers, I’ve only had chance to test these Biocool Tablets with Household Tap Water so far and there seems to be no Taste difference once they’ve dissolved (which takes about 3 hours), so this is a Definite Positive. Price wise, you get 250 of these Tablets for just under the £25 mark from memory, so that only works out about £0.10p per/Tablet and seeing that each Tablet can Purify 5 Litres of Water, that only works out at around £0.02p per/Litre - Brilliant! Overall, I can’t give it the full 5/5 stars due the Misleading Statement and Not Fully Testing them out with anything other than Tap Water so far? - However, they’re going to be Handy to Keep in my 72 Hour Emergency Pack and I Hope I Never Have to Test them out for Real! Thank you.
